And it speaks to the ... Actually I found it ironic. And it speaks to the attitudes of some gun control advocates, just as Laci's post regarding open carry advocates speak to that issue.
For example, recently Joan posted on her blog,

"And then there was a domestic shooting last week. A woman shot a relative of her ex husband because she claimed she was in fear for her life. She was a legal gun permit holder."

http://www.commongunsense.com/2014/05/minnesota-shootings-and-gun-votes-in.html#comment-form

She was speaking of this event, which she cited,

"The alleged shooter was a woman who claimed she was being threatened by a relative of her ex-husband. The police say that she feared for her life and shot the person. The person she shot has non-life threatening injuries.
She does have a permit to carry the gun.
The woman is cooperating with the police investigation."
http://www.kare11.com/story/news/crime/2014/05/02/minneapolis-shooting-related-to-domestic-dispute/8605041/

Apparently, there were no arrests, so it appears to be a legitimate defensive gun use. I looked and could find no other mention of the story. And its being touted as an incidence of domestic violence when in actuality, it seems to have fallen under the law in regards to justifiable use of force.
And no, Minnesota does not have a stand your ground law in force.

ssgmarkcrhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14480230040370709682noreply@blogger.com
