Anon, I can't speak to this on the national level with any credibility. Three states come to mind right off that don't because they don't require a permit at all. Those states are Alaska, Arizona, and Vermont.
I also don't know the process involved in keeping track. My guess is that it gets run through a database of permits when records are sent in at a state level.
That being said, mike makes this statement as an absolute, which suggests that it's never done. I'll try to find an example here. I believe michigan also does it because when I was looking at VPCs concealed carry killers site, there were listings of suicides by michigan permit holders in their list.
So, showing that at least one state and possibly another has a system in place to check for crimes committed by permit holders would disprove that absolute statement.
Do the majority of states not check? I can't say, but since you often see people charged for carrying without a permit, my guess is they do. Especially if you are carrying when you're arrested.ssgmarkcrhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14480230040370709682noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6314891743204395487.post-19759375760252038592014-01-31T18:06:05.813+01:002014-01-31T18:06:05.813+01:00And what about nationally?
