If they'd work with us to clean up the worst of thier fellow gun owners, they'd be the biggest winners.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09806175370305006933noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6314891743204395487.post-3405455446413198852011-11-07T18:59:56.173+01:002011-11-07T18:59:56.173+01:00What NavyVet said. What NavyVet said.Batocchiohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02193752396025012825noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6314891743204395487.post-59448610119645364772011-11-07T17:34:25.050+01:002011-11-07T17:34:25.050+01:00It's called "responsible gun ownership&qu...It's called "responsible gun ownership", but the NRA has blatantly ignored the "responsible" part for years now. The leadership of that organization seems to be more focused on the "right" to carry weapons, concealed or otherwise, without restriction, than on promoting safe, responsible ownership and use of personal weapons.NavyVetnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6314891743204395487.post-18889475658043931452011-11-07T14:13:57.109+01:002011-11-07T14:13:57.109+01:00Guns don't kill people, the NRA does.Guns don't kill people, the NRA does.dixie bloodnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6314891743204395487.post-49739913402949411852011-11-03T17:38:14.747+01:002011-11-03T17:38:14.747+01:00Then there is still a problem, because apparently t...Then there is still a problem, because apparently there is a need for service members at risk to secure those weapons so they cannot be used in either domestic violence (too common a problem among armed forces at the moment) or in suicide.

If they pass a psyche evaluation, I have no problem with them getting their firearm returned, but given that the rate of violence is so much higher than in the civilian population, that seems to me a reasonable requirement.dog gonehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00151618317070878675noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6314891743204395487.post-34016069093113271082011-11-03T12:14:22.536+01:002011-11-03T12:14:22.536+01:00"Congress should rescind the NDAA 2011 restri..."Congress should rescind the NDAA 2011 restriction on discussing personally owned weapons so that unit leaders can suggest to service members exhibiting high-risk behavior, acting erratically or struggling with depression that they use gunlocks or store their guns temporarily at the unit armory,"

Unit leaders can suggest all of that to high risk service members now. What they cannot do is force registration of weapons owned of base. Nothing in NDAA 2011 stops them from suggesting they use gunlocks or store them in a certain manner.FatWhiteManhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08946272184958991397noreply@blogger.com
