NH Parole Board Grants Early Release

The New Hampshire Parole Board granted early release Thursday to a killer who says he has transformed himself behind bars.

Eldridge, who is now 43, was 20 when he shot and killed 15-year-old Travis Wiggins in Tamworth in 1988. Eldridge said he pointed the loaded gun at Wiggins intending to scare him when his finger slipped off the hammer and the gun fired.
First of all, I don't know what the hell they're talking about calling this "early" release. The guy served over 20 years. But secondly, it was an accident, for crying out loud. This is the kind of time people should do for pre-meditated murder, not for unintentional manslaughter.
