I was struck by this, particularly the part some ways into the video that describe how this kind of a project affects people who are traumatized by the violence and loss inherent in the U.S. gun culture.
It represents the antithesis of the philosophy "I've got a gun, I will use the gun to resolve problems" attitudes, the take matters into your own hands with violence as an individual, instead of stressing solutions through law and community.
