arma virumque cano (et alia)
I've always considered shooting into the air to be wasteful and unsatisfying. You can make just as much noise with a firecracker. And the thought of shooting without a target which allows you to measure your skill is repugnant to me.
You never mentioned the "what goes up must come down" science. I guess that kind of danger is not repugnant to you.
I guess uncle Joe "shotgun" Biden needs to address that issue, he is the one that advocated for it.For the rest of us, and I bet SS too, it's a subject that's well recognized and needed no further discussion of the painfully obvious. But maybe that what goes up must come down and may kill you is a new thing for you and just had to crow about it, good for you. Bless your heart.
It's obviously a new idea for the idiots who keep shooting their guns in the air thinking they are being safe, responsible gun owners. SS was speaking directly to shooting in to the air, but never mentioned it. An oversight?
ss, I have to agree with Sandra. It seems to me the most repugnant thing should be the possible injury or death when the round comes down.
"SS was speaking directly to shooting in to the air, but never mentioned it. An oversight? " Yes Sandra, it was, thank you for catching that. It does quite obviously violate Col. Cooper's fourth rule of gun safety, "know your target, and what's beyond it.
Why did they bother with the sign in english, come on we all know that undocumented gun owners are just taking the jobs that legal american gun wont do.
Do you count this regime's President of Vice, Joe Biden, among those lawful gun owners who need a reminder?
Joe Biden, the new Carolyn McCarthy. Keep pushing it, Kurt. People might start to think he's the true spokesman of the gun control movement.
Oh, there are plenty more pro-"gun control" idiots where those two came from.
In his defence, slow Uncle Joe did say to shoot in self defence not celebration.... that would take a much larger sign.....
Lawful gun owners and concealed carry permit holders need to be reminded.
Really Mike? You have source for such a statement? Or do you like protecting the criminal and his activities.
Use your head, man. Criminals don't obey the laws, right? Therefore, who is that sign directed at? It's directed at so-called lawful gun owners who, in about 50% of the cases, are not responsible at all. They just haven't been caught yet.
That's bull and you know it Mike. The sign is pointed at the very people that do such criminal acts, permit holders are not a part of that group. The reason is the person that gets a permit is often more scrutinized than the everyday gun purchaser. They have to know the laws and are tested on them before a permit is issued. They have to know the operation and subsequent troubles using that gun. The permit holders have so much more at stake besides loosing their permit if they engaged in such irresponsible action. Even non permit holders who are responsible with their guns are not likely to engage in such stupidity. So who is the sign pointed at? STUPID PEOPLE! AKA criminals.Don't go lumping different groups together. Like you don't want Bidens shotgun suggestions equated with your gun control, permit holders and responsible owners don't want to be lumped in with criminals.
There's more to it than your simplistic breakdown. Among permit holders there are many who are irresponsible. The scrutiny you mention is minimal and in some states practically non-existent. That's why the bogus claim you guys often cite is wrong - that permit holders are more responsible than other gun owners. They're basically the same. You cannot paint the world of gun owners into two groups, good guys and bad guys. There are many who are masquerading as good guys but who are really hidden criminals or irresponsible or so bumbling that they're a danger to themselves and others. I post stories about these guys every day. Over the last year that's about 500 cases - just on my one little blog.
It has been proven many times the permit holder are more responsible than even those that wear the badge. You just don't want to accept that fact. There are now more than 11 million active permit holders in this nation, where is all the blood in the streets?
The blood in the streets is there, man. And some of it is being spilled by permit holders. That's what you don't want to accept.Plus there's a secondary way the permit holders contribute to the blood in the streets, and get away with it. Every time one of them has a gun stolen or sells a gun without a background check either knowingly or unknowingly to a criminal, they contribute. Unfortunately, there's no way to count those things, but they're there, whether or not you want to accept them.
Permit holders are the ones spilling blood? Sure, every time they defend themselves. Committing crimes, way less than one tenth of one percent. Face it Mike, you want to criminalize the most law abiding in this country and give the real criminals a pass. We make a criminal a criminal by owning the objects of his desires to which he steals. He, the criminal, steals from us and it's somehow our fault? You are the one that's bogus Mike. But that's ok, just keep showing the world how a grabbers mind works because it's been working really well for the pro gun side by showing just how stupid remarks like you make are.Keep helping us out Mike, makes our side better and better.
" you want to criminalize the most law abiding in this COUNTRY and give the real criminals a pass."You're putting up a good challenge to Kurt for biggest liar of the blog. I never said or implied criminals should get a pass. You made that shit up and pretended it represents my position.
You're putting up a good challenge to Kurt for biggest liar of the blogIs that another way of saying you can't pin any "lies" to him, either?
You have yet to take a position that doesn't give them a pass Mike. Instead you take a position (the only position) to demonize, criminalize the good guys who have done nothing wrong by using terms of hidden criminal and 50% nonsense. Prove to me that's a lie Mike, prove it. I don't make anything up or lie about anything either. You could be taken WAY more seriously by drilling into the bad guys.Let me tell you a little story Mike, and I am surprised you didn't cover it here. On December 13, a real good friend of mine was killed, execution style. He, the killer turned himself in on December 24 at his lawyers office for murdering my friend. My friend worked as a clerk at a local gun store in Ft Worth Texas and I go there every Saturday to visit with him, not just about guns, about everything. I was in there just an hour and a half before he was killed and I was there early that day. Usually I go an hour before they close and visit until he gets ready to lock up. Something I have been doing for years. On the security cameras a guy walks in just before closing, buys a $2.00 doodad and walks out, less than two min later he walks back in and unloads on my friend, 30 rounds at least, all caught on cam, a brutal execution killing WHY? The killer was in and out fast. The killer issued a statement via his lawyer that he was robbed outside (there are outside cams too) left naked as it was another guy that took his clothes and went to do the killing,,,,,,,, in less that two min! His mom said he was mentally unstable. He just finished probation for unlawful carry of a firearm by a prohibited person (How did he get that gun?). He was prohibited because of a dishonorable discharge from the army. Now he murders my friend with no apparent reason with we believe to be an AR15, not sure yet as this whole thing is still being investigated. How did he get THAT GUN? Continued,,,,
A black guy killing a white good guy, is that why you didn't post it here?? It was all over the news and internet and youtube. If he had been mentally unstable he wouldn't have got into the military or they would have sent him to a mental hospital if was found to be so after he joined. Nope, a dishonorable discharge, not a mental problem release.Apparently not so mentally challenged to plan out a killing and think quick for an excuse, altho that being the lamest thing I ever heard. I lost a real good friend to an animal with a gun. If you posted it here, you would have given the bad guy a pass and made it the fault of my friend or mine or society or gun laws or ANYTHING BUT THE KILLER!! Gun control or any of your idiotic ideas would have NEVER stopped this animal from obtaining a gun. Despite the reputation that Texas has, Texas is not really that gun friendly compared to many other states.Did he get those guns thru family, his other animal buddies, steal it? On and on the questions go. Right now it doesn't matter to me how he got it, he wasn't supposed to have it. The killers mindset is what bothers me. Mental? Unstable? Full of hate? Full of rage? Mike, these people are out there, everywhere and you CAN NOT fully prevent them from getting guns. This is why the country is going back to letting the good people carry their own protection, control laws make the good people victims and only victims. The good guys, especially the concealed carry permit holders, CHL holders in Texas, are the MOST LAWABIDING IN THE COUNTRY! You can try to spin this fact anyway you want but there is solid proof of this fact everywhere. So yeah, that what you call bulls##t IS YOUR POSITION and it is not made up It is NOT a LIE. Prove to me otherwise and I will rethink my opinion of you. Put it up, prove otherwise or your not the one getting a pass.As for my friend? HE had lots of friends. He was a super nice, real polite, quite 32 year old gentleman. I went to his funeral, it was standing room only and everyone there was deeply lost and sad. His friends outnumbered family at least 10 to 1 and his family were the nicest people I ever met, probably why this 32 year old guy was so polite himself.Mike, When you address these animals, talk about ideas that can keep them off the streets because you can never keep them from getting guns instead of demonizing every person that takes the time, money and training to defend themselves from these animals that you give a pass to, I will take you more seriously. Until then, Nope!
