California Man - Presumably a Concealed Carry Permit Holder - Shoots Himself in the Balls

Southern Beale

A man accidentally shot himself in the testicles while walking down a street in Los Angeles Saturday, police said.
The 26-year-old was enjoying a stroll with his girlfriend on Beverly Boulevard and Robinson Street in Silver Lake at around 12:45 a.m. when he heard a pop, a Los Angeles Police Department spokesman said.
Much to his dismay, he discovered his gun had accidentally discharged, with the bullet hitting him in the private parts.
He was rushed to the hospital in a stable condition. There were no other witnesses besides his girlfriend
Hard not to laugh at these people, it really is.

  1. . . . Presumably a Concealed Carry Permit Holder . . .

And upon what are we to base this presumption?

    1. In California, don't you think if he had no permit he'd have been charged with having the gun?

    2. We might as well presume this was Brady Campaign supporter Sylvester Stallone who shot his testicles. As you know, not many people outside of celebrities are awarded permits in LA county. Remember, you keep telling us how important it is to have the extensive May-issue permitting process that California had to filter out people like this. They do stop me from carrying, but not this guy. Or... he doesn't actually have a permit, and either they haven't pressed charges (yet), or this very brief story just didn't mention it. They made no mention of a permit either, but you're happy to make presumptions in that case. One of those has to be true- he was either carrying illegally or he had a permit, yet the story said neither. They also didn't mention that he is a racist (which I am sure you went on to presume as well).

    3. The story is based on what the "Los Angeles Police Department spokesman said." I find it much more likely that the guy was a permit holder, otherwise the police department spokesman would have had a very different report.

    4. Not nearly enough to pass judgement from the article. That said considering the difficulty of getting a ccw in CA it's rather unlikely that he had one. The issue of arrest is that most departments have a policy and I belive it is in the code, of not being able to arrest of misdemenears not committed in the officers presence, and illegally carrying a concealed weapon is just a misdemeanor in ca. Whether any detours were made between the incident and the hospital, such as dropping weapon off at home or simply leaving it in the vehicle at the hospital we don't know.

    5. MikeZ brings up an excellent point. They can't charge him with possession of a gun if they didn't catch him possessing a gun.

  2. Nothing presumable at all...never ceases to amaze me the willingness of those on the anti side on this blog to take enjoyment in others suffering truly disturbing

    2. What's truly disturbing is the pro gunners lack of concern for life. Refusing to the point of irrationality to help curb in any way the gun shot death and injury rate. especially where children are concerned. Claiming the 2nd A is some kind of rule from God, that has no limitations. Truly disturbing.

  3. No passion tonight! I guess he will be going home soon with a nice ice-pack in his lap. Hope they give him enough pain pills. Probably had to catheterize him. With any luck, he's enjoying some gelatin and popsicles by now. Wonder if his girlfriend wants to be his nurse?
