Genius Legislation in Texas

  1. I agree that's a stupid law. The good news is that if they repeal the licensing requirement for lemonade stands, the only--the only--stupid law under discussion here becomes relegated to a bit of embarrassing history.

  2. Yes, we should apply some common sense and allow those girls to sell their lemonade without a license.

    1. But, seriously, why don't they do that? Why would so much attention, time and money be spent on the open carry movement and meanwhile silly bureaucrats keep coming up with restrictions on things like lemonade stands?

There is likely very close to zero overlap between the people who worked so hard (and so successfully) to bring legal open carry to Texas, and those who favor licensing requirements for lemonade stands, so I don't see how a useful parallel can be drawn here,

    3. Welcome to your world, Mike. What do you expect? Your answer to problems has been government regulation, restrictions, licensing, permission, fees, criminal punishment, etc. Why do you expect them to stop before they get to girl's lemonade stands?

    4. Well, my answer to gun violence is those things. In this example they've got it ass backwards, that's all.

    5. You reap what you sow. You want an almighty government entity that tightly regulates people's doings and has their hand in the people's pockets to pay for it, but you hope they stop right before you consider it overreach.

  3. Sure, Mike. Government abuse in one area TOTALLY means we should abuse everyone the same way, not that we should stop the abuse.

TSA needs a new director--want to take over? You can ensure they cavity search little old ladies so that it's not "racial profiling" when they do it to others.

    1. Abuse? Now you sound like Kurt using exaggerated terms to describe mundane things. Common sense gun control regulations do not amount to abuse.

    2. "Common sense gun control regulations do not amount to abuse."...your idea of common sense gun control regs most certainly are an abuse of peoples rights...Forced BCG abuse of the 4th amend ..seizure of 50% of gun owners property abuse of the 4th amend ect ect
