It’s Not About Mental Illness - It' About Lawful Gun Owners Who Never Should Have Been Allowed Guns

It's not about mental illness: The big lie that always follows mass shootings by white males

I get really really tired of hearing the phrase “mental illness” thrown around as a way to avoid saying other terms like “toxic masculinity,” “white supremacy,” “misogyny” or “racism.”

- or gun availability, or loose gun laws, or lawful gun owners who never should have been allowed guns.

  1. Adam Lanza was a "lawful gun owner"? Stealing a gun and murdering its rightful owner is legal in Connecticut, then?

Not a bright boy, this Arthur Chu.

    1. I figured that as an adult man living with his mom, with whom he used to go to the gun range and fire that gun, Adam Lanza could be considered the legal owner of it.

But, go ahead and twist it around all you want, Kurt. Anything rather than admit we are allowing too many unqualified folks to own guns legally and some of them are making the news.

So he was the legal owner, and his mother wasn't? That is the most . . . novel definition of "ownership" I've ever seen. You might be alone in the universe in holding that definition.

    3. Pretend you don't get it. Typical. Lanza, like Loughner and Holmes and too many others to name, was NOT a disqualified person.

And if he had been one, how would that have changed the outcome.

But nice attempt to dance away from your embarrassment of having referred to someone who stole guns, murdered its rightful owner, and used them to butcher a bunch of children and teachers, as a "lawful gun owner."

  2. We haven't seen these terms from you before regarding who should be unfit to own guns. Can we expect yet another revision and escalation of your "famous formally 10% now 50%"? I shutter to think of who gets to decide if someone is "racist" given the wildly liberal use of the word I see from you and other gun control supporters. I am also curious to see the criteria for defining when one's masculinity has reached "toxic" levels.

    1. You're right it'll be impossible to screen for some of those things, but by applying my policies regarding psyche evals and may issue licensing, many of these dangerous people would be left without guns or access to them.

Because they were screened for mental illness, or because they were screened for "misogyny"?

  3. Why didn't Chu include a photo of Muhammad Youssef Abdulazeez, as far as we know he was a lawful gun owner????
