Idaho Boy Trips, Shoots Dad

Ohh Shoot reports on an incident in Idaho. I wonder if Joe Huffman knew these people, he's from Idaho, right? Do you think this teenager is one of the ones I keep hearing about from pro gun folks who was raised with guns and taught how to handle them?

A father and son were target shooting in Idaho. The boy, 15, was walking when he tripped. As he fell he unintentionally discharged the .22 pistol he was carrying. The bullet hit his 43-year-old father in the stomach.
The father was airlifted to a hospital in Boise.
Ohh shoot.

What's your opinion? Is that something that can happen to anyone? Is that part of the deal?

  1. There was a surprise TV commercial on in my neck of the woods asking viewers to call their congressman and demand closing the gun-show loophole. It began with photos of Columbine and noted how many years it has been since that mass murder.

At least they are out there trying to keep the loonies from amassing a personal arsenal.

When rules are not followed, then yes it can happen. Would you be calling for less cars on the streets had the kid been learning how to drive and accidentally ran over the father?

If it was more years or less years, what does that have to do with the "gun-show loophole"?

The shooters at Columbine each had 2 guns. Suppose a mass murderer is prevented from "amassing a personal arsenal." All he has is 2 guns -- the ones he uses to commit the mass murder. What is the benefit?

That's pretty low, even for you MikeB.

  5. There's nothing "low" about that, Mike W. Would you care to elaborate?

  6. Yes that happens. Just as car accidents happen to drivers, and golfers get struck by lightening.

A cynic knows the cost of everything and the value of nothing.

    My condolences to the family.

  7. Ah, Muddy shows us how dishonest anti-gunners are.

Using Columbine to close the non-existent "Gun Show Loophole" (I.E. ban all private sales) when the Columbine shooters DID NOT get their guns via private sales from a gun show or elsewhere.
