While it is possible this was a murder by another member of the Amish community, it is relatively unlikely.
From MSNBC.com and the AP:
Girl driving buggy in Amish Ohio area fatally shot
FREDRICKSBURG, Ohio — Police say a teenage girl driving a horse and buggy in an Amish area of northeast Ohio has been shot in the head and has died.Holmes County Sheriff Timothy Zimmerly says 15-year-old Rachel Yoder died Friday, a day after her brother found her outside their home in Fredricksburg, in neighboring Wayne County.
WJW-TV reports she was Amish and had attended a Christmas party for employees of a produce shop.
Zimmerly says she dropped off a friend before being shot about 3 miles from home. He says she fell from the buggy when the horse arrived at the home.
Zimmerly tells Wooster's The Daily-Record newspaper a bullet was found in the girl's head but no bullet holes were in the buggy and no casings were nearby.
The Amish are known for careful selectivity of technology and their peaceful ideals.
This is terrible. Maybe MikeB could suggest some of his shared responsibility nonsense though. If only she were in a car..or only if she hadn't been alone....or some other reason to blame this on anyone other than the goblin that did this.
ReplyDeleteIf only her "careful selectivity of technology" had included a semi-automatic Glock or maybe oneathem Desert Eagle .50 Cal. inanimate objects.
ReplyDeleteFatWhiteMan is exactly right about shared responsibility. When they found out where the asshole who killed the young lady (if in fact that ever happens)got the gun they should prosecute the person who sold it to him or allowed, through arronegligence, for it to be stolen.
What am I thinking?! It's NEVER the fault of anyone else but the killerz; even if FatWhiteMan or Greg Camp personally handed the killer a gun with no thought in mind other than making a private sale or advancing the holy cause of gunzloonery WHILE knowing that the person was bit "off" in the head, or a tad PISSED, they would have no moral or legal problem with the transaction.
And why the heck should they, I ask you? The RIGHT to hold and bear arms shall never be conditional and FREEDOM to do anything you want wit your gunz, including selling/giving them to delusional or criminal individuals is GAR'N'TEED under the 2nd Amendment!!
FWM: "some other reason to blame this on anyone other than the goblin that did this. "
ReplyDeleteIt's never "other than;" it's "in addition to."

Goblin? Apart from the fact that using that word only serves to underline that your relationship with firearms is one of fantasy rather than fact, this guy wasn't TRYING to shoot anyone. So, even by your usual sick standards of morality in using the term, this guy shouldn't qualify as a 'goblin'.
What he DOES qualify as in just one more gun lunatic who probably told everyone who would listen how damned safe he was...... right up until he accidentally killed someone who lived a lifestyle and embraced a religion that doesn't worship guns and violence.
How about we suggest that those of you who talk a lot of talk about safety aren't so damned safe after all for the rest of us minding our own business.
It is those of you with guns who share the responsibility.
That stupid little Amish girl shoulda been drivin' a REAL vehicle with a STEEL roof which woulda deflected the slug! She's dead 'cuz she rejected MurKKKin drivin' values!! Her parents should be jailed for negligence!!!
