Daniel Diaz, Youth Pastor, Shot Dead After Prayer Rally Against Gun Violence

Youth pastor Daniel Diaz, 33, was driving home from a church party with friends when he was shot and killed by an unidentified assailant in Pomona, Calif.
The shooting occurred just hours after a peace and prayer rally was held by community leaders against gun violence.
Diaz, a youth minister at New Beginning Community Ministries Church in Baldwin Park, was much beloved in his community, who gathered on Tuesday night at a memorial vigil for him.
His mother tearfully said, "To the person who did this, if I could see you face to face, I would tell you that God loves you. And if you knew my son, my son would have loved you."

  1. Shot in a state that earns the Brady Bunch gold star--yet another example of gun control failure.

  2. Would it make a difference if he was killed in another State? He would still be dead.

    1. But if gun laws make a difference, this shouldn't happen in California.

    2. Don't be ridiculous, no law magically makes bad behavior disappear, but almost every law does change the behavior of the people, as intended. Are you saying this would never happen in a different State with different gun laws?

    3. I'm saying that California's repressive gun control did nothing to stop this, so another solution makes sense.

    4. It's funny how you use anecdotal evidence when it serves.

    5. Laws against murder don't stop all murders. Should we eliminate all laws against murder?
