‘Libtard’-hating ex-police chief accused of pointing gun at woman who passed his Hummer

Mark Kessler (YouTube)

Raw Story

A former Pennsylvania police chief infamous for his profane video rants — punctuated by gunfire — against “libtards” has been arrested on harassment and terrorist threat charges.
Mark Kessler was charged last week on one misdemeanor count of harassment in connection with an Aug. 19 confrontation with a Frackville borough councilman at a supermarket checkout, reported the Standard Speaker.
Kessler accused the other man, William Creasy, of talking about his daughter, and he said the former Gilberton police chief shoved him in the chest and wagged a finger in his face, police said.
“You better watch your back, I know where you live,” Kessler allegedly told the man.
Creasy said the former officer also pestered him with slanderous emails, and he worried that Kessler might harm him or his family.
Prosecutors charged Kessler with misdemeanor counts of terroristic threats, harassment and disorderly conduct in connection with an Aug. 22 confrontation outside a drug store.

  1. Hmm . . . this might shed some more doubt (if any more doubt were needed) on his claim of having actually been an agent provocateur, working for the government.

    1. I don't understand your take on this. Would you mind spelling it out please.

I think he's a hotheaded doofus, and a not-very-skilled liar (but he at least came up with a creative lie).

    3. Um, Kurt. I'm thinking that if Mark was a deep cover, right-wing fanatic working with the CIA and DHS to thwart domestic terrorism...

He wouldn't be a very good spy just to go and spill his guts to the first FOX news guy that will give him an interview, now would he?

    4. FJ, I think you misunderstood what Kurt wrote.

Kurt, I agree with you on this one. Jeez, if this keeps up, we'll be writing each other poems before long.

You should probably hope not. My poetry would probably be bad enough to cause massive damage to the reader's internal organs. I, of course, came along after Douglas Adams had discussed the very worst poetry in the universe (at that time). Thing would otherwise have been very different.

  2. Misdemeanor charges? This is somehow a big deal?

    2. Are you saying you want these acts of petty mischievousness prosecuted as felonies with prison time?

    3. The Raw Story title is misleading. Pointing a gun at someone is called aggravated assault. And that didn't happen according to the description in the article you used Mike.
Here is what was written from a different source,

"The woman said Kessler began to pull away but suddenly stopped, backed up and reached down, pulling out a firearm to show her, Petrus said."

Another article used a more accurate term by saying this,

"Both victims accuse Kessler of threatening them and in one instance he allegedly brandished a gun."

Prosecutors are supposed to charge according to what the evidence in front of them shows. Raw Story also seemed to leave out the fact that the supermarket confrontation was witnessed by a police officer who was with Creasy at the time.

    4. Brandishing a gun and threatening someone should be a felony, never a misdemeanor. Loss of guns rights for having misused them is appropriate. Jail time should be suspended on the first offense.

    5. The law is determined by the legislature. In the case of the terroristic threat charge, there is a felony level for the crime, but this event doesn't rise to that level.

  3. Somehow, these testosterone-poisoned, addle-headed, right-wing gun nuts seem to keep finding their way into the news cycle. At least when they had jobs, (George Zimmerman thought he had a job,) they were busy enough to stay out of trouble with complete strangers. Now this Kessler sicko has more money and time on his hands than he knows what to do with. It's funny to see him on the other side of a law enforcement problem. Wasn't he the guy that wanted to drill libtards with his machine gun? Imagine how his daughter must have felt. Cringe.

  4. Actually, in PA, the charge of "Terroristic threats" is graded either as a first degree misdemeanor (a.k.a. an "M1"), as was the case here, or as a 3rd degree felony.

M1's have a maximum sentence of 5 years in prison, so they are all prohibiting offenses. If he's convicted, or pleads to this, he'll never legally own a gun again. Not sure about posting outside links in the comments, so Google it if you want confirmation.
