‘Libtard’-hating ex-police chief accused of pointing gun at woman who passed his Hummer

Mark Kessler (YouTube)

Raw Story

A former Pennsylvania police chief infamous for his profane video rants — punctuated by gunfire — against “libtards” has been arrested on harassment and terrorist threat charges.
Mark Kessler was charged last week on one misdemeanor count of harassment in connection with an Aug. 19 confrontation with a Frackville borough councilman at a supermarket checkout, reported the Standard Speaker.
Kessler accused the other man, William Creasy, of talking about his daughter, and he said the former Gilberton police chief shoved him in the chest and wagged a finger in his face, police said.
“You better watch your back, I know where you live,” Kessler allegedly told the man.
Creasy said the former officer also pestered him with slanderous emails, and he worried that Kessler might harm him or his family.
Prosecutors charged Kessler with misdemeanor counts of terroristic threats, harassment and disorderly conduct in connection with an Aug. 22 confrontation outside a drug store.

Georgia Police Chief Pleads Guilty to a Misdemeanor in the Shooting of his Wife

Local news

Peachtree City’s former police chief pleaded guilty Thursday afternoon to accidentally shooting and paralyzing his wife on New Year’s Day.
A Fayette County judge sentenced William McCollom to 12 months’ probation and fined him $1000 as a first offender.
Fayette County prosecutors charged McCollom with a misdemeanor count of reckless conduct after they determined the chief did not intentionally shoot his wife Margaret.
The shooting took place in the early morning hours of January 1st at the couple’s home.
Investigators determined McCollom fired his service weapon as the couple was in bed, striking his wife in her back.
A Fayette County Grand Jury indicted McCollom on the misdemeanor charge in May.
In March, McCollom resigned as Peachtree City’s Police Chief.

Michigan Man Sentenced to 1 Year in Jail for Ann Arbor Shooting

Local news reports

One of two men who recently took a plea deal in an Ann Arbor shooting were sentenced in the Washtenaw County Trial Court Wednesday, records show.

Tawayne Fly, 22, was sentenced to serve one year in the Washtenaw County Jail after pleading guilty Jan. 29 to one count of larceny from a person, according to court records and police officials.

Fly was credited with 19 days served, records show.

Charges of armed robbery, conspiracy to commit armed robbery and felony firearm were dismissed.

His co-defendant, William Ross IV, 17, was also scheduled to be sentenced Wednesday, but online Washtenaw County Circuit Court records on Saturday did not have his case, which could mean he was sentenced under the Holmes Youthful Trainee Act. Under a HYTA sentencing, records are wiped.

Ross and Fly went to buy marijuana from a 20-year-old Ann Arbor man at a residence in the 700 block of Gott Street around 9 p.m. Jan. 7. But instead of buying drugs, the two men attempted to rob the 20-year-old in the backyard, according to police. The three men began to fight and the gun went off.

Ross was shot in the chest. The bullet grazed the 20-year-old's head. He was treated for minor injuries.

Michelle Montgomery, Utah Teacher Whose Gun Accidentally Fired in Bathroom Charged with Misdemeanor, Resigns

Local news reports

A Utah teacher who was injured by fragments from a bullet and a porcelain toilet when her gun accidentally went off in a faculty bathroom at an elementary school has been charged with a misdemeanor and resigned from her job.

The charges came earlier this month after she changed her story about what happened in the Sept. 11 shooting. Detectives had confronted her about discrepancies, charging documents show.

Michelle Montgomery, 39, was charged earlier this month with discharge of a firearm in a prohibited area within city limits, court records show. She is scheduled to be in court on Nov. 5 for a pretrial conference.

She first told investigators that her gun accidentally went off when it was in her holster while she was in the bathroom stall, charging documents show.

However, that story didn't jibe with evidence gathered from the scene.

At a second interview, detectives confronted her about the inconsistencies, and she provided a new account. Montgomery said she had put the gun on top of the toilet paper dispenser. After she was done going to the bathroom, she grabbed the gun to put it back in her holster, but it slipped and went off, she told detectives according to the charging documents.

The bullet struck a toilet, causing it to explode, and fragments from the bullet and toilet struck her lower leg.

Montgomery was facing discipline for violating school policy but was not going to be fired, Horsley said. But on Thursday, Montgomery informed the district she would not be coming back to her position as a sixth-grade teacher at Westbrook Elementary School in the Salt Lake City suburb of Taylorsville.

She said she was taking another job closer to where she lives, Horsley said. Montgomery was a teacher at Westbrook for 14 years.

3rd Loaded Gun Confiscated at Detroit Metro Airport in a Week

Detroit Free Press
For the third time in a week, federal agents caught a person with a gun at a checkpoint at Detroit Metro Airport.
This weapon was loaded, too, just like the last one snagged by security.
The latest incident happened early Saturday morning when a Detroit woman was arrested after she was caught with a loaded .357 handgun as she was passing through the airport checkpoint, according to the Transportation Safety Administration. A TSA officer who was staffing the checkpoint X-ray machine spotted the handgun in the woman’s bag as it passed along the conveyor belt.
Wayne County Airport Police were contacted and responded to the checkpoint, where the woman was arrested on a weapons charge.
The gun was loaded with five rounds.
This incident came days after airport police arrested two other individuals who were found with guns at the checkpoint. One of the arrested is an airport employee who was caught with a gun on May 4, as she was headed to work at one of the airport shops. Four days later, a male passenger was arrested when TSA officers caught him with a gun in his bag as it passed along the conveyor belt.
No names have yet been provided.
TSA stresses that weapons—including firearms, firearm parts and ammunition—are not permitted in carry-on bags, but can be transported in checked bags if they are unloaded, properly packed and declared to the airline. Passengers who bring firearms to the checkpoint are subject to possible criminal charges from law enforcement and civil penalties from TSA.

Terry J. Dunlop, Jr., Ohio Concealed Carry Permit Instructor and Serial Shooter of Innocents Finally Charged with a Crime - Sort Of

Terry J. Dunlap Sr.

The Columbus Dispatch

Violet Township Trustee Terry J. Dunlap Sr. was charged today with negligent assault in connection to an accidental shooting of a student taking a concealed-carry class that he taught last year.

Lancaster Assistant City Prosecutor Stephanie Hall filed the misdemeanor charge in Fairfield County Municipal Court. She said Dunlap would be sent a summons to appear in court.

Dunlap, 74, said this afternoon that he did not know he had been charged and had no comment.

The charge was filed after special prosecutor Jeffrey Hunter filed a report last month with the offices of city prosecutor and county prosecutor. Hunter, who was appointed special prosecutor to look into the shooting, concluded in the report that there were no grounds for a felony charge because the shooting was an accident and Dunlap had not been acting recklessly.

"Not been acting recklessly?"  Whaaat?

Wisconsin Man Gets Probation for Gun Availibility to Kids

A Green Bay father whose son shot his sister after he left the two home alone was sentenced Friday.

Bone will have a year of probation and serve 200 hours of community service.

Authorities say Bone showed his children where the gun was for emergencies.
While home alone the 11-year-old boy got the gun because he thought someone was breaking in. The little sister got shot accidentally and, no thanks to the super-responsible dad, survived. She was lucky, to say the least.

But wait till you hear the judge's pronouncement.

Judge McKay also ordered Bone to stay away from drugs, alcohol and guns during his probation.
I suppose what that really means is AFTER his probation he still has to stay away from drugs.

What's your opinion? Hasn't David Bone demonstrated sufficiently that he's incapable of owning guns safely?  What kind of gun owner tells the kids where the gun is, just in case?

Let me answer that.

Many of our favorite gun-rights advocates are like that. They've taught their young children how to handle guns, They themselves boast of having been indoctrinated young and they turned out OK. They live in a fantasy world of ever-impending attack, hell, it would be irresponsible NOT to tell the kids where the gun is.

How much you wanna bet that Judge J.D. McKay is a gun lover and a 2A supporter? Who else would even consider letting a guy like Bone own guns again in the future.

What's your opinion? Please leave a comment.
