A Militia Has Taken Over A Federal Building In Oregon

Huffington Post (including video of Bundy)

A protest in support of Oregon ranchers facing jail time for arson was followed by an occupation of a building at a national wildlife refuge led by members of a family previously involved in a showdown with the federal government.
Ammon Bundy — the son of Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy, who was involved in a standoff with the government over grazing rights — told The Oregonian on Saturday that he and two of his brothers were among a group of dozens of people occupying the headquarters of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge.
Ammon Bundy posted a video on his Facebook page asking for militia members to come help him. He said "this is not a time to stand down. It's a time to stand up and come to Harney County," where Burns is located. Below the video is this statement: "(asterisk)(asterisk)ALL PATRIOTS ITS TIME TO STAND UP NOT STAND DOWN!!! WE NEED YOUR HELP!!! COME PREPARED."

  1. And these slugs are a bunch of crazy ass mormonies dredging up one of their derelict fucks from times gone by.

I own this and do not want the likes of these lowlifes around.

  3. Well... I think the first thing we might try is to turn off the electricity. I mean, you can't really expect these guys to pay for anything. How about they contact the local power company and start up their own contract with an appropriate security deposit?

These guys are ISIS light. A joke.

  4. And an embarrassment, as indicated by the lack of comments from our usual suspects.

    1. You typically read too much into a "lack of comments". You want a comment from me? Fine. I don't support these guys because I don't know enough about their cause to take a stance. Right now, I don't care enough to spend more time on it. If the story grows, I might learn more and take a stance one way or the other.

What I do find alarming is the response from the rapid left demanding their execution. I mean... Wow. It's no wonder people feel the importance of staying armed. I'll also note that once again the government isn't so quick to mow people down just because they have superior firepower showing that light weapons do have a use- easily dismissing your "hahahaha" post from a few days ago.

    2. These guys are largely poseurs and wannabes. Why would you think they warrant much comment?

    3. I too was impressed by the tough talk on how to deal with this group who took over an unoccupied federal building.
Its miraculous how quickly the caring and feeling can become fierce when it fits their agenda.
From what I'm reading even the local III% groups aren't feeling too kindly towards them. So I'm going to go with the recommendations of Bob Owens on this one,

"I’d have the local sheriff simply block access in or out to deny them resupply, then cut the utilities, and let what the Russians call “General Winter” do the rest."

    4. That's pretty harsh Mark. After all, they are Americans.

      Wink.

    5. Why let them stay and destroy government property? When blacks take over a city street to protest unarmed blacks being killed by police, the police bring out the tanks, but these criminals are allowed to do whatever they want and no police action to arrest them, or even get them out of the property.

And from what I've heard, they are perfectly free to leave the building. One of those old Army sayings is, "failing to plan means planning to fail"

So far, the only damage I've heard of is breaking the lock to get into the building. No sign of any buildings burning or police cars getting flipped and burned.

    8. Perhaps "taking over a city street" has something to do with that. Maybe next time, "Black Lives Matter" should protest in the middle of the woods. I bet the cops would leave them alone.

Did you mean their "prosecution?" I really didn't notice anyone on the left asking for them to be killed.

    10. No, I meant "execution". Though, I did mean to say "rabid", not "rapid"...

    11. So far? Have you been in there? You know for a fact they have done no damage? That doesn't coincide with reports from reporters who are there.

I haven't seen any reports of buildings being damaged Anon. Perhaps you'd be willing to share some of those reports you've seen with a link so we can all see.
