I remember when Google Earth got popular a while back, there were some concerns about privacy. Does anyone feel that this fantastic technology is going to be misused, Big-Brother style? Some of this Google stuff makes the video surveillance in modern cities look like nothing? Is that a problem?

I recently tried to use Google earth to find my house on a friends computer a few weeks ago...I don't have the program installed on my computer.
ReplyDeleteWe found it all right, but as I closed in on it, it wasn't right...
There were buildings that do not exist anymore.
In fact we realized, the satellite picture had to have been taken before the year 2000! One of the buildings that was in the picture was destroyed by the huge tempest of Christmas 1999!
Obviously, there are some places in the world where you can get away with anything you please.
