Gun Laws in the Netherlands

Self defence is not regarded as a valid argument for owning a gun, and only the police are allowed to carry a weapon. The main purpose of Dutch gun laws is to create a clear division between legal gun owners and people who use guns for criminal purposes. So far, the Dutch have been fairly successful in accomplishing this objective.
The main exceptions are sports shooters and hunters. Both have to go through extremely strict, lengthy and expensive steps in order to qualify to own guns. Maybe the U.S. could learn something from the Dutch.

  2. Anonymous, I'm just getting to moderating comments which have been sitting in queue for a little while.

While I put this through and another short one, I'm deleting the others; they are stupid and pointless.

Panda Mikey? What the hell is that supposed to mean.

Straighten up Anonumbass, I don't feel any regret deleting your comments if they don't merit publication. Yours sometimes don't, and it has nothing to do with anyone being afraid; obviously since Mikeb hasn't even seen them, that's not the issue.

It has everything to do with your lack of quality in content.

Try harder. I doubt it will help much, but every little bit helps.

You mean like the fact that the shooter in the NL was a criminal and got a gun anyway.... won't make it to comments.....

It is why you gun banners are idiots..... your gun laws do not work......

  5. No you geographically impaired fool; we're in distinctly different parts of the planet, in very different time zones, which is why it is advantageous to be able to cover moderating duties at different times.

Mikeb needs no protection by me, nor do I need it from you either.

You may have lost a comment somehwere, but that 'first comment' you refer to never made it as far as moderation. WE didn't fail to post it, we never received it. Try again.

Try harder, be smarter, do better. It can't be any worse than your other drivel, and hey! it might be better.

    I live in hope.

  6. The rarity of incidents like this in Europe, or Brazil, compared to the US should be obvious to anyone. Part of the reason is our lack of proper controls and screening.
