Twiddling around at gunpolicy.org

Given my interest in this topic is (a) more international and (b) more interested in the military aspect of the Second Amendment--I was hoping to find some interesting story about gun running in Papua-New Guinea. or a fact like:
More than a quarter of Swiss households have access to a gun, according to a study carried out by the Institute of Criminology at the University of Zurich.
Instead, these stats came up:

  1. If you consider the rate of firearm ownership in the U.S. compared to other nations, I bet we have far fewer gun homicides per gun than most other industrialized nations. I also believe that if you looked at the number of gun homicides verses the total number of rounds fired for non-criminal pursuits, you would find that far fewer rounds per 100,000 were used for nefarious purposes here than any of the others as well.

Basically, when you consider just how many guns we own and compare that to the number of guns owned in those other nations and look at your number of gun homicides per 100,000, I imagine that our guns are far safer.

  2. FWM, How many times do I have to tell you the "gun homicides per gun" makes no sense at all.

You need to divide by all the stars in the galaxy to get the percentage you're lookin' for.
