Tea Party speaker, Mormon Neo-Nazi Candidate for Sheriff Apparent Shooter in Mass Murder / Suicide in Arizona

reposted from Penigma

Would this be a good time to point out the inherent problems with the lax gun laws of Arizona? I think so. I can't wait to learn his permit status, if any.

This creep could easily be the poster child for NRA gun nuts - the individuals who are obsessed with firearms, obsessed with finding someone to shoot, obsessed with threats lurking around every corner about to getcha (because you're so appealing/good looking/rich/ important/ sexy - if only in your own mind). That would be as distinct from the sane individuals who don't feel a need or desire to go armed everywhere, who aren't afraid of imminent home invasion, who don't wet themselves over improbable heroic fantasies involving their fetish objects, and who practice sound, sane gun safety for normal firearm activities like skeet shooting or hunting where a firearm is a tool in an activity, but not an essential fetish prop to a person's core identity.
J. T. Ready, who mostly personifies the National Rifle Association demographic of an old looking (he's white overweight angry guy with right to extreme right wing leanings, killed himself and four other people in Arizona. Ready was a speaker at Tea Party events, where he was embraced. Ready had also attempted to be part of Occupy events, where his participation was rejected because of his hateful and extremist views.
While many on the right have tried publicly to distance themselves from the anti-immigrant, anti-Semitic, and racist views of the white supremacists, the reality is that the right has courted and embraced them. They have been part of CPAC, the Conservative Political Action Conference, where all four of the then running GOP presidential candidates spoke. Right wing bloggers are featured and presented with awards, including Pamela Geller who shares a number of views that she holds in common with right wing extremist mass murderer Anders Breivik in Norway, demonizing anyone who isn't white, and exclusively culturally western European. The right wing is concerned about keeping domination in the U.S. for white European-descended people, and desire to keep black, brown, and presumably Asian people in a subordinate relationship.
Here are just a few of the extensive Youtube video collection about the now-late TJ Ready. He and his colleagues are far more damning than I could be about them. For those of you who don't readily recognize him in some of these clips, recalled right wing majority leader Russell Pearce was a close buddy of Pearce, including having converted him to Mormonism, and then catapulted Ready right to an important status position in the church. For those not familiar with the acronym, ADL is the Anti-Defamation League.

I could point out these guys are ignorant extremist red-necked- red-state racist, bigoted assholes, but that would be redundant.
If this piques your curiosity, wikipedia has an entry on him. This is from that entry:
He also served as president of the Mesa Community College Republican Party Club and as a precinct committeeman for the Maricopa County Republicans. In 2006, he sought a seat on the city counsel for Mesa, Arizona. He put forth as his motto that "The Purity of the Aryan Race is the most precious resource Nature has to offer All of Humankind."[2]
As the Brits would say, Ready seems to have fancied himself a superior human being. I don't see that in any aspect of him. I would worry that might offend his surviving family and friends, but he appears to have shot them all.
I would not have thought this guy had anything whatsoever to do with a college edumacation; maybe he just presided over the college Republicans, but wasn't actually a student himself. We're talking Arizona after all. Republicans, Tea Partiers, Neo-Nazis; gun nuts all, they deserve each other, but the rest of us don't.

  1. I look at J.T. Ready and think, "Jack Black; call your agent, stat! Tell him you want the part of J.T.Ready in the straight to cable biopic that will be churned out in the next month or so. This will be LOTS better than your brief turn as a gunzloonpatriot in "Mars Attacks".".

It ia amazing that people lie Pearce are so fucking stupid that they will say they don't know someone when they are in videos with them, saying things about them since at least 2004. And Pearce signed ze paperz when J.T. became a SLC Moron. Oooh, gonna have to ask Mitt about that boy!

  4. I have never heard of this guy before. From Laci's description, he sounds like a jackass and someone that I would not support.

If what Laci says is accurate, this guy doesn't represent me or anyone else that I know. And he surely isn't a "typical" armed citizen. In fact I would argue that people like him are one of the reasons that I want to be armed.

The reality is that the overwhelming majority of armed citizens are every day people that work to provide for themselves and their families. They enjoy their time with family and friends. They support their communities and make our country a better place to live.

My wife and I are armed citizens. We have volunteered with Habitat for Humanity, rebuilt homes along the Gulf Coast after Hurricane Katrina, and distributed meals to people for charities. None of these activities excluded people of non-European decent. And we adopted a child of another race so she would have a good home and loving family. We have good friends who are armed and also adopted a child of another race.

There are going to be bad apples in any arbitrary demographic. It sounds like the subject of this article was one of them. He is not like the majority of armed citizens.

  5. Dog Gone tells us that guns are reasonable tools in shooting skeet or in hunting, but apparently, when used for self defense, that's just insanity. Of course, she got a handgun and a carry license when her life was in danger. Could Dog Gone be Dianne Feinstein in real life?

Tied for the giant hypocrite of Mikey's lite site of spew, (right next to Laci the closeted gun owner) got one not because she was afraid but because but because her stalker annoyed her.

  6. Boy, tommy, it's always such great fun to watch the surviving members of gunzloonznation like you, orlin sellers, Cap'n Crunch and Gregginnseither project an ex--cuz'hefuckin'killedHIMSELF--member of their tribe's craziness onto liberal/progressive/democrat folks OR just fucking ignore it entirely.

The guy was a racist piece of shit, a SKKKrotalMurKKKinPatrotiKKK Front gunzloon and well, dare I say it, a murderer. Yeah, liberalism/progressivism made him do it.

"Dog Gone tells us that guns are reasonable tools in shooting skeet or in hunting, but apparently, when used for self defense, that's just insanity."

Just another one of Greggin'z little LIEZ. I'm wrong, it's more of a whopper. I think that it's fair to say that dog gone's position is that looking at teh gunz as the first or ONLY means of defending oneself is fucking stupid and might be, depending on one's mental state, KKKrazzee thinkin. Greg Camp is aware of the distinction between what dog gone advocates for and his breathless claim, but the lie is so much sexier than a nuanced truth--so why bother with the truth, right, Gregginz?

    1. I really have to call you on this one demmocommie. I shared a video with dog gone ... a video of a man stabbing a woman repeatedly in a WallMart. She condemned the armed citizen who intervened and shot the man which abruptly stopped his attack and saved the woman's life. She condemned the armed citizen because he might have shot the stabbing victim instead. She also condemned the armed citizen because he could have accidentally shot a bystander. Finally she condemned him because he should have first tried throwing merchandise at the attacker to stop him.

She simply doesn't want anyone else to use a firearm for self-defense and manufactures inconsistent reasons to justify her position.

  7. It's important to remember JT Ready often bragged about being an NRA member and "certified" instructor.

In many ways, he was a pretty typical NRA gunloon. He was a failure all of his life--earning a bad conduct discharge from the USMC, having a number of petty crime convictions, and a hatred of minorities.

    1. I don't see how this guy was anything typical of an "NRA gunloon". I don't know any citizens who support gun rights -- whether NRA members or not -- who are anything like that guy. How many NRA members do you personally know? How many of them are like that guy?

Maybe DG can connect being a Mormon with this story:

You mean the Mexican "boogeyman" that inspired Arizona Sheriff Paul Babeu to hold a press conference informing his constituents that his officers were unable to stop the drug and human traffickers? You know, the press conference where he said about his deputies, "We are outgunned. We are outmanned". You know, the same situation that prompted the U.S. Department of the Interior to post large signs warning citizens to stay out of several 10s of thousands of square miles of southern Arizona because drug and human traffickers had made it a dangerous area.

Would that be the same Sheriff Babeu who's up to his ass in jams with the DOJ and a few other jurisdictions over questions about a gay, mexican lover; something about some political shenanigans and rumors about his prior job at a private school in Massachusetts? That Sheriff Paul Babeu. A series of articles beginning in February of this year about all sorts of things Babeulian, none of it flattering.

Poor orlin, so divorced from reality that he has to just make shit up. The thing is orlin, Ready was a neo-nazi.

    This:

"Ready was allied briefly with former state Senate President Russell Pearce, and the two posed together for photographers during an anti-illegal-immigration rally at the state Capitol in June 2007. By the next year, as Ready’s ties to neo-Nazi and White supremacist groups became more apparent, Pearce disavowed him."

Is what the scumbag was about. When he was stripped of his position with the county republican party he went shoppin.

It's a testament to the durability of your indignorance that you can somehow turn a neo-nazi, anti-immigration gunzloon into a democrat--just as soon as he commits murder. You would have to work really, really hard to rise to the level of "fucking pathetic".
