Lawful Minnesota Gun Owner Goes Berserk

USA Today

A Minnesota man accused of standing in the street and firing at passing cars — killing a 9-year-old boy — had roughly 200 rounds of ammunition stuffed into his jacket pocket, a backpack and the fanny pack he was wearing when arrested, prosecutors said Wednesday.

Nhan Lap Tran, 34, was charged Wednesday with second-degree murder and other counts in Monday's shootings in the St. Paul suburb of Oakdale. Fourth-grader Devin Aryal died in the shootings, and his mother and another woman were wounded. Two other motorists escaped as they were being fired upon, according to the criminal complaint.

  1. All gun owners are ticking time bombs, and can go off at any moment. Cut them off in traffic? The gun is out, making sure that they win the argument. The most dangerous person in the world is the person who shares your bedroom who has a gun.

    1. Care to back that bullshit up? The person who shares my bedroom has a gun. I have guns. We've never shot each other. There are 100,000,000 gun owners in this country--about one person out of every three. My advice to you is that if you're so worried about us, staying in your home under your bed is probably the safest thing to do.

    2. Gunsuck gunwacks in congress have stopped research. Research that was done backs me up. That's why the gunsucks stopped it - whatever you do, nothing can harm or put blame on the Holy Gun, My Sex Fantasy Gun.

    3. After checking my reference books, I can inform you that "because I said so" is not a valid citation technique.

  2. It's an issue of personal responsibility. I am not responsible for someone who disregards the rule of law and hurts people. I defend my family, from thugs and/or potential rogue government. If someone 'steps on my toes' in a movie theater, I have a higher level of care and responsibility, because I am the only one that knows that one of us has a disparate level of force (me). It doesn't result in brandishing or shots fired, I likely will smile and say ouch, and walk away. I am no different than nearly all other lawful gun owners. I own guns because I love my family and wish to protect them. I alone am responsible for my security, and while I deeply respect and admire law enforcement, they would likely not be there when the worst happens. I will.

    1. We keep hearing that bullshit about protecting the family. It's bullshit because by owning guns you actually endanger them. The chances of your using a gun to save the day are lower than the chances that your gun will one day be misused, and the misuse can be as devastating as the imaginary attack you keep talking about.

No, the reason you own guns is because you're a fearful, insecure man with an over-active imagination who's made a stupid decision and is now desperately trying to justify it. Of course, since I don't know you, I realize you could be an exception to this general rule, but I doubt that.

    2. Or what is more likely--what you call the general rule is actually the exception, given the 100,000,000 gun owners in America.

    3. Mike i own guns for 2 reasons to put food on ny table and to protect my family because i cant count on the police, and yes a gun has saved my family from an intruder who planned on doing harm to them which the police refused to do anything about till after i did.
