Iraq Veterans Against the War

9 comments:

  1. A lot of truth in this video. I guess nobody feels it more deeply or knows exactly what has happened as much as a vet who was duped into volunteering. I got most of my damning information from an Iraq war veteran who had a lecture on UCTV. We came into towns and villages, rounded up all of the men and threw them into prisons where they were interrogated and tortured. We did this thing where an infantryman kicks down a front door and then someone tosses in a hand grenade before the soldiers stormed in. It really was a lot like the Nazi occupation of Europe. I couldn't believe my eyes. The reality was so much worse than we could have anticipated.

I'm okay with this guy branding Hillary, if it forwards his agenda. But didn't Barack Obama get us out of Iraq? Combat troops are out of Afghanistan and Obama plans to have all troops out by the end of his second term. Am I just some blind, dyed-in-the-wool democrat? Or am I missing something here.

My wife remembers, "Hey, hey, LBJ! How many did you kill today?" I think that there is a marked difference between the two administrations.

Howdy FJ. Hope your time at the beach went well. I don't do beaches well since being a stereotypical ginger, I do as well in the sun as your everyday vampire.
Actually Iraq got us out of Iraq. The current administration was looking to have a more or less permanent presence in Iraq to assist in training their military and lend some stability. However, the Iraqi government refused to sign a status of forces agreement which would keep discipline of soldiers under UCMJ. So we ended up leaving pretty quickly, leaving behind a lot of equipment and local forces being ill prepared for ISIS. As can be seen by the large number of up armored HMMWVs in enemy hands. And not too long ago, we started delivering F-16s to them.
As for Afghanistan, I'm wondering why you think what you do regarding combat troops. Currently a portion of a light infantry brigade and a combat aviation brigade is slated to deploy. Plus, I'm not sure if the plans for total withdrawal are going to go as planned also.

"Current plans call for that number to drop to about 5,000 in 2016, but the top commander in Afghanistan, Gen. John Campbell, testified on Capitol Hill earlier this month that he wants "greater flexibility" to potentially keep more troops in-country.
Campbell said his views are influenced in part by Afghan President Ashraf Ghani's request for more U.S. support for Afghan forces in areas such as logistics, intelligence and air support."

    2. I love this guy, but the sad part is the more his message is heard and understood, the higher the percentage of poor uneducated nearly-illiterate suckers will make up the military.

    3. I'm guessing that, you think the guy that assassinates American citizens was and is deserving of that Nobel Peace Prize. The fact is, he continued the Bush policies, bumped up a notch or two.

  2. The training (brainwashing) of these young men by guys like SS to kill, will of course lift when the fog of war dissipates and anyone would feel guilty. The military makes them suckers by force of not questioning their actions.

    1. As I've said before Anon, I teach many subjects, to include escalation of force, rules of engagement, and even wound care. Haven't gotten into operation of drones though......

    3. Anon, I hope Mike wont mind me using the same reply I used in another thread because it seems quite on-topic here too,

"YOU LOVE TEACHING PEOPLE HOW TO KILL."

Anon, I love training soldiers. Its honorable work and I'm fairly good at it. After I retire, my hope is to be able to train citizens in the shooting sports to include becoming a certified carry permit instructor.
Just trying to stick with what I'm good at."

Not ashamed of what I do.
