Her gun control plan was unveiled Sunday and comes several days after a fatal mass shooting at an Oregon community college claimed 10 lives and injured several others.
Clinton told reporters earlier that as president she would use executive action to pass her proposals “if Congress will not act.”
In addition to pushing background checks on gun show buyers, Clinton said she would work to repeal a law backed by the National Rifle Association which prevents the victims of crimes from suing gun manufacturers. Clinton also said she would revoke the licenses of known “Bad Apple” gun dealers who sell crime guns.
“What is wrong with us that we can’t stand up to the NRA and the gun lobby and the gun manufacturers they represent?” Clinton asked during a speech delivered at Broward College in Davie, Florida.
Clinton is currently 9 points is behind another candidate vying for the Democratic nomination, Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, according to a new poll
Clinton also referenced the so-called “Charleston” loophole, referring to a requirement placed on the Federal Bureau of Investigation to allow a gun purchase to proceed if the agency does not complete its background check within three days.

  1. "Clinton also said she would revoke the licenses of known “Bad Apple” gun dealers who sell crime guns."

Will be interesting to see how she proposes to do this. If these "Bad Apples" were violating the law, or even just ATF regulations, their licenses would already be gone. Or they could be prosecuted criminally, or even successfully sued because the PLCAA as its name implies, only protects lawful commerce.
There has been a Democratic President on office for heading towards eight years now and I'm not seeing how they will be any more "productive" on this issue in the next four. But then, this is a political campaign and promises made during the campaign all of a sudden bump into the real world afterwards.

    1. Obama mostly promised not to touch the gun issue, although comically, right-wing buffoons loved the meme "Obama will take your guns away!" But understand, there were a lot of mass murders on his watch. I don't think a man of his conscience could simply stand by and say nothing. But that was the Obama presidency. We had a lot of work to do just to restore America's stature among her allies.

With Hillary, it's going to be a different story. It's high time to take on and defeat the powerful gun lobby. It's also time to marginalize and subdue other toxic factions of the republican party. The republicans are on the ropes, this is no time to let up the pressure.

Then, if your party improves and behaves well for the next eight years or so, maybe we can have a president Rubio. A man who should become a rather distinguished statesman of fifty-three years. And do me a favor. Put some better women up to run for office. This is getting old.

    1. I doubt that Vince Foster was an SS agent protecting Reagan.
