Lawful Dallas Gun Owner Kills Burglar, Aims Gun At Police, Gets Killed Himself

A career criminal broke into a Far East Dallas home Thursday night thinking the homeowner had died and his belongings were there for the taking, police said.
Not long after, the burglar, Jerry Wayne Hale, 30, was fatally wounded from the homeowner’s bullet. Police said William K. Hall, 57, stood over him and told him he wanted to shoot him again.
Police said Hall then turned his 9 mm pistol on witnesses and officers before three officers opened fire, killing him.
Maj. Jeff Cotner of the Crimes Against Persons Division said at a Friday news conference that responding officers didn’t know Hall was defending his home. Regardless, Hall had threatened witnesses and officers, Cotner said.
“Our individual had plenty of opportunities to deescalate,” Cotner said. ”He was given plenty of notice, and he didn’t choose a path other than to confront officers.”
When officers Julian McDaniel and Daniel Ryan Summers showed up on the scene, they didn’t know the other officers had taken cover, Cotner said. Officer Alexander Everett went to warn them as they headed toward Hale, who was lying in a pool of blood.
Then Hall began walking out of the shrubs and made it into his driveway while continuing to manipulate the slide on the gun to make it fire again. Hall moved toward officers and pointed the gun at them, Cotner said.
The three officers fired and struck the man, Cotner said. He said Hall then fell to the ground, but managed to reach over, pick up his gun and point it at officers a second time. Officers fired again, and Hall died at the scene.

Spree Shooting in Dallas - 4 Dead 4 Wounded

Local news reports

A suspect in the fatal shootings of four people in two Dallas-area homes was in custody Thursday as police tried to determine what prompted the attacks just minutes apart and whether an explosive was used.
Four people were also wounded in the attacks. The first shooting took place at a house in southwest Dallas late Wednesday and another was about 15 minutes later in DeSoto, some 10 miles away, Dallas police Sgt. Warren Mitchell said.
Investigators arrested Erbie Bowser Wednesday night at the second crime scene, but they have no information about Bowser's relationship with any of the victims, DeSoto police Cpt. Melissa Franks said.

A spokesman for DART said that the trainee was putting his weapon in its holster when it accidentally fired. Another spokesman confirmed that the trainee shot himself in the thigh and was taken to Methodist Hospital in Dallas.
He should be looking for another career, don't you think?

Dallas Transit Shooting - 2 Dead

A shooting suspect and one of three people he shot Tuesday at a Dallas Area Rapid Transit station just north of Dallas have died of their wounds, officials said.

The shootings happened at 3:30 p.m. at the Arapaho station in Richardson, Texas.
It's a pretty exciting story. The female transit officer was hit in the bullet-proof vest. The bad guy died by a bullet to the head, which incredibly they were't sure if it had been self-inflicted or not.

This is what the por-gun crowd get for their efforts. This scene and countless others just like it all over the country are a direct result of the lax gun laws paid for by the gun lobby and supported by the gun-rights fanatics.

Double Murder in Dallas - With a Gun

The Dallas News reports.

Witnesses told police that Habib, who is also known as “Tony,” came into the store Wednesday and got into an argument with the employees over his claims that they owed him money. About 4:37 p.m., Habib pulled out a gun, walked behind the counter and began shooting, they said.
Down in Dallas, they've all got guns. It's gotten so you can't tell the good guys from the bad guys any more.
