Lawful Lesbian Gun Owner Goes Crazy

Local news reports

A 41-year-old pediatrician is being held on $2 million bail after she allegedly fired several shots at her former partner, striking her three times and narrowly missing their 11-year-old son.

Lauren Patricia Daly, a pediatrician at A.I. du Pont Hospital for Children in Wilmington, Del., is charged with attempted homicide and related offenses in connection with the Memorial Day shooting that occurred about 6:49 p.m. in the driveway of her home in the 200 block of North Middletown Road, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

Daly reportedly was upset at not being able to speak with her son and allegedly responded by firing several rounds through the windshield of the victim’s black Volvo, striking the 49-year-old woman in the face and torso. The boy was not physically harmed.

According to the affidavit of probable cause written by Trooper John O’Donnell, Daly and the victim had been in a relationship that ended several years ago.

Daly was held overnight then arraigned Tuesday morning by Magisterial District Judge Walter Strohl on charges including attempted homicide, aggravated assault, recklessly endangering another person, two counts, endangering the welfare of a child and possessing instruments of crime. Daly did not post the $2 million bail and was remanded to Delaware County prison.

They keep telling us more and more women are buying guns.  Maybe they're right.

Delaware Governor Signs in Background Check Law - Tyranny Expected

From the Trenches

Most private gun transfers in Delaware will soon be subject to the same background check rules currently applied to sales by licensed dealers, according a measure signed into law today by Gov. Jack Markell.

The signing comes on a day when several other pieces of a Democrat-sponsored package of gun control bills are facing committee action in the General Assembly.
The background check law is the first piece of the package, introduced earlier this year, to win passage.

Effective July 1, private gun sellers will be required to obtain federal background checks on buyers, except in cases where a firearm is being transferred to a close family member, a law enforcement officer or the holder of a valid concealed-carry permit.

The background checks will be performed on behalf of private sellers by federally licensed firearms dealers, who may charge a fee for the service.

“Today we are closing the private-sale loophole once and for all,” Markell said. “No longer will we have two different markets for the sale of firearms, a regulated market for dealers and an unregulated market for everybody else.”

Now what the hell was so difficult about that?  What in the world is the pro-gun objection to this little bit of tyranny? How exactly does it violate the spirit of the 2nd Amendment?

Delaware Moving Ahead on Gun Control

Newsworks

In a 13-8 vote, the Delaware Senate approved a portion of Governor Jack Markell's gun control agenda which was unveiled following the deadly school shooting in Sandy Hook, Connecticut.

House Bill 35 requires background checks for nearly all gun sales and is designed to keep guns away from both criminals and those who are mentally ill.

"This is not about so many things that the opponents wanted to make it about," Markell said.  "We believe in protecting the second amendment, we just want to keep weapons out of the hands of people who shouldn’t have them."  Markell is expected to sign the legislation into law, although a date for that signing has not been set yet.  Once signed, the background check requirements would go into effect on July 1.

The legislation makes exceptions to the background check requirement for sales between immediate family members, as well as sales involving active duty or retired law enforcement officers.  The bill also exempts sales involving antique firearms and replicas.

This is just one leg of Markell's gun control package.  Other parts include a ban on the sale of high capacity magazines, an assault weapon ban.  Markell also wants to require gun owners to report a loss or stolen weapon within 48 hours.  He also is proposing a gun possession ban within 1,000 feet of a school.

Now that's not so bad, is it?

Delaware Lack of Wisdom

Senate Bill 29, or more specifically Senate Substitute Bill 1 to Senate Bill 29, which would have made it illegal for individuals to possess loaded, un-stored and active firearms outside of their homes while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, was just defeated in the Senate by a vote of 10 to 7. It takes 11 votes to pass a bill in the Senate. You will notice that there are four missing Senators, because the Senate has 21 members, and only 17 of them did their jobs tonight. Who are the four who decided not to vote on this bill?
Will someone please explain to us how such a vote was possible? Who in their right mind would think possessing a gun while drunk or loaded on drugs is acceptable?
