Tulsa Oklahoma Liberal Radio

About.com reports on a frightening incident that took place in Tulsa.

Some guy with a sawed-off shotgun entered KBEZ's building in Tulsa, Oklahoma demanding to speak with radio personality, Carly Rush. 92.9 KBEZ plays "Today's Variety and Yesterday's Favorites!". Rush is co host on the Steve & Carly in the Mornings show and also is on solo from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Thanks to the quick actions of a secretary who left the room and called police, 58-year-old Barry Styles was taken into custody, but not until he was shot three times after brandishing the gun to responding police.

Several charges are pending against Styles including possession of a sawed-off shotgun and reckless conduct with a firearm.

I wondered when's the last time an armed lefty tried to kill one of the conservative talk show personalities. I believe, except for a brief period in the 1960s, this type of thing is the exclusive bailiwick of the right.

  1. Funny, there isn't a single account of this incident that mentions the politics of either the gun man or Carly Rush.

  2. Why is it that if a criminal like this idiot commits a crime, the gun control loons act as if the gun loons think he is our hero when we say nothing of the kind. Yet when a criminal like Colin Goddard goes on a crime spree they elevate him to hero status.

Me thinks the gun control loons need heroes really bad for some reason. You guys can get help for that from most mental health care providers. They might even be able to help with your hoplophobia.

  3. I rarely agree with Aztec Red. On this one, I'll wait till I hear something about why the idiot with the sawed off was there. Most morning jocks, especially in places like Tulsa, OK are not gonna be liberals.

    Dear Mr. Fat White Man:

It's not so much that we think Type 2A's make heroes out of such idiots. It's that they are always portrayed as outliers who are not representative of the class. DGU folks, on the other hand, are considered to be heroes by you folks.

    Who said that?

"...when a criminal like Colin Goddard goes on a crime spree..."

Do you always exaggerate that much?

That is rich coming from you.

That's because they are outliers, and the facts back that up, no matter how much you deny reality.

I don't think that you are indicative of all liberal bloggers. I consider you an unfortunate outlier.

And you consider anyone who is to the left of the Teabaggers a commie. None of this is news.

You are all about whatever facts support your positions and asserting that any facts that don't aren't really facts. It's an old game, it makes folks like you feel like winners.

You keep telling me you want a "serious debate" about guns but you won't go to the Brady folks and have one with them. Really, you need to think about how strong your position really is if you can't hold your own with them.

Have you put that banner about supporting Gay Rights as much as Gun Rights up over at your blog, yet?

    The Brady Campaign avoids debates.

I can't blame them though. They're always on the losing side.

The Brady folks claim to want to compromise with moderate gunowners. I have tried to do just that, and they are totally unwilling to talk about compromise. They are, however, eager to talk about gunowner capitulation.

  10. Actually, the NRA avoids the Brady Campaign and VPC like the plague. Instead, Chairman Wayne would prefer to take on folks who know little or nothing about gun policy.

That's why they cried like stuck pigs when Michael Moore carved up Charlton Heston.

And who can blame Chairman Wayne? After all, if he actually faced someone with a fair understanding of the issues--he'd lose.

You mean folks like Rebecca Peters?
