Barker, a long-time animal rights activist and vegetarian, added that there was a combination of things that caused him to faint.
I don't know about you but I find that an odd combination, vegetarianism, animal rights and shooting guns at the range.
What do you think?
MikeB: “I don't know about you but I find that an odd combination, vegetarianism, animal rights and shooting guns at the range.”
ReplyDeleteThat is because you think the only people interested in guns are white southern redneck men.
> ... shooting guns at the range.
ReplyDeleteAs opposed to shooting guns at squirrells and prarie dogs at a ranch?
The article didn't claim he was hunting. Why would eating your vegetables and spending time at a range be at odds?
ReplyDeleteI find it refreshing that Bob Barker doesn't feel the need to conform to preconceived societal groupings.
ReplyDeleteYou have to shoot some vegetables before you can eat them. Squash, turnips, parsnips and Brussels sprouts are all deserving...I mean, need to be shot before they can be eaten.
ReplyDeleteSame with chopped spinach.
Jadefool's Biggest (Only?) Cheerleader gets confused when people refuse to fit in the little boxes he has set aside for them--when they, in short, insist on behaving as if they were individuals, rather than faceless members of the groups into which he likes to categorize them.
ReplyDelete"That is because you think the only people interested in guns are white southern redneck men."
ReplyDeleteOr to be more succinct, because mikeb is a bigot.
Or, could it be that I'm such a narcissist, that I find it odd when someone does it differently than I do.
ReplyDeleteIn my life, not eating meat and not hunting and not shooting guns all seem to go together.
Or, could it be that I'm such a narcissist...
ReplyDeleteFinally something we can agree on. I guess we can find common ground on this blog.
Jadefool's Biggest (Only?) Cheerleader:

And it irritates you, doesn't it, when people live their lives differently from the way you live yours?
You would be happier, wouldn't you, if Barker (a shooter, apparently) was also a hunter and meat-eater? That way, your orderly view of the world wouldn't be as challenged, because you could disagree with him on everything, instead of agreeing with him on some issues, and looking down on him on others.
