In the criminal complaint, FBI Special Agent Richard Box alleged that on Tuesday afternoon, someone at a St. Louis-area mosque informed the FBI that a caller identifying himself as "Roman" threatened to burn a copy of the Quran and videotape it for distribution to three television stations.
The caller also pledged to "start a war between Christians and Muslims," "kill President Obama and other government officials to start a war," end the military conflict in Afghanistan and ensure North Korean leader Kim Jong Il would "have some pain and cry," Box wrote.
"I want to start an apocalypse," Box alleged the caller also said in the call to the mosque, perhaps unaware his telephone number had appeared on the mosque's caller ID and ultimately was conveyed to the FBI and Secret Service. The number was Conaway's, Box wrote.

Are you going to bet that he is a CCW holder too?
ReplyDeleteI'd need odds, FWM.
ReplyDeleteYou're plenty odd already, Jade. Don't be greedy.
ReplyDeleteJadefool:
ReplyDeleteSooooo..who wants to bet Roman Conaway is a gunloon and NRA-type?
Well, that would be a bit difficult to say, since, to my knowledge, no one has defined the concept of "NRA-type," and "gunloon" doesn't seem to be an actual word in any language. It would, of course, be the acme of idiocy to enter a wager about whether or not someone can be accurately described by two undefined terms. This is especially true when the wager is proposed by someone known to redefine actual words, with accepted definitions, when he finds an earlier position he took to be untenable (a frequent occurrence, in Jadefool's case).
However, this snippet from the article sheds some doubt on Jadefool's cherished (apparently) notion that guns are important to loyal Brady Campaign contributor Roman Conaway:
The man's wife and son stayed with Conaway, who was not armed with guns . . .
Yep--sounds like someone obsessed with guns, alright--in a standoff with police at his home, he goes not for guns, but fake explosives.
Your make this fun, Jadefool.
Zorro: Gosh, he threatened using explosives? Must mean he's not a gun nut, right?
ReplyDeleteEver hear of NRA hero, Timmy McVeigh?
Jadefool:
ReplyDeleteEver hear of NRA hero, Timmy McVeigh?
You mean the "NRA hero" who quit the NRA in disgust over its weak-kneed willingness to compromise with the pro-tyranny lobby (one of the only things McVeigh got right)?
Care to name any NRA member who has expressed anything but loathing for McVeigh? Oh--you can't?
Figured as much. We really don't need all these reminders that you're a shit-clogged liar, Jadefool, but thanks for making absolutely certain no one forgets.
Jadefool:
ReplyDeleteZorro: Gosh, he threatened using explosives? Must mean he's not a gun nut, right?
Well, whatever a "gun nut" is, one might reasonably expect him to--you know . . . have guns in the house. One might also reasonably expect that when engaging in a police standoff in his home, a person would go for the most powerful weapon he has, rather than bluffing with a fake weapon (or perhaps grab at least one gun and the fake "bomb").
Since he apparently did not do that, he sounds more and more like a longtime Brady Campaign contributor to me.
Thank you for playing, Jadefool.
By the way, Jadefool, I notice you've been putting up a lot of new posts in the not much more than 24 hours since I posted my comment exposing your apparent ignorance of the contents of the article about this incident you had hoped to blame on a "gunloon [sic] and NRA-type."
ReplyDeleteEmbarrassed, are you?
Well, don't worry, Jadefool--anyone would be embarrassed to have been caught in such idiocy, and besides, I know you're doing the very best you can, in the face of your devastating genetic (and environmental?) shortcomings.
We all still know you're special.
I had a couple thoughts on this one. First of all, about the universally agreed-upon attitude towards Timothy McVeigh, I would agree that now, after the fact, it would be difficut to find an NRA person or anyone else for that matter who supports him. But, before the famous incident, I think it would have been a different story, not unlike the frequent incidents we read about every day. The not-yet-infamous guy who shoots up the joint, is supported and praised right up until the time he goes too far. Then you all say, he's not one of us.
ReplyDeleteSecondly, I've been wanting to mention that when Zorro uses the name "Jadefool" to refer to Jadegold, he's making a specific and disparaging attack upon a single person. When Jadegold uses the name "gunloon," on the other hand, it an attack upon a large group of people who make up a subset of a much larger group called "gun owners." The way I see it, not all gun owners qualify for the sobriquet.

As I have asked before, supporting someone who has not yet done anything evil, and then holding him accountable when he does, is wrong . . . how?

Actually, I don't make it a habit of referring to Jadefool's marital status, but since you bring it up, perhaps he'd have a (slightly) better chance with the ladies if he put down the Hot Pockets, and got out of his mom's basement occasionally.
When Jadegold uses the name "gunloon," on the other hand, it an attack upon a large group of people who make up a subset of a much larger group called "gun owners." The way I see it, not all gun owners qualify for the sobriquet.
ReplyDeleteOnce again, JadeGold's apologist apologizes for Jade's bad behavior. Why can't you just call a spade a spade? It would be a lot easier to take you seriously on other matters.
You guys are too sharp for me. Zorro picked up on the word "single" instead of "individual" and derailed the entire issue.
ReplyDeleteRuffRidr, since Zorro sidestepped that personal attack issue so successfully, you're calling me an apologist for Jadegold.
You guys are like a one-two punch.
You call it "Jade's bad behaviour" when he refers to the lot of you as "gunloons." I was attempting to point out that Zorro's use of "Jadefool" is more personal and worse.
You guys wanna give me the old Ali shuffle again or do you want to respond?
I was attempting to point out that Zorro's use of "Jadefool" is more personal and worse.
ReplyDeleteWho cares if it is worse? Denounce all bad behavior. Do you not get that JadeGold's bad behavior is spurring on the same from others?

I wasn't trying to play "Gotcha!" with the "single" thing--I was just having some fun.
I do wonder how it could be "worse" for me to call someone with a long, exquisitely documented history of being an asshole, an . . . asshole, than it is for said asshole to attempt (albeit laughably childishly and ineffectively) to insult broad swaths of humanity about whom he knows virtually nothing. Indiscriminate attacks are morally preferable to surgical strikes?
Besides, Jadefool also singles out individuals for his silly vitriol.

But you really don't know, do you, because no one has a definition of Jadefool's fabricated "word" (referring, perhaps, to a fabricated concept?). That works well for Jadefool, because no one can argue that a statement is false, without knowing what every word in that statement means.
He oughtta work on this "writing (typing, I supppose) in tongues" thing some more--he could become the Robert Tilton of the written (typed) "word," spreading his religious faith in "gun control."
I remember Robert Tilton years ago. He must be a billionaire by now.
ReplyDeleteAbout the name calling, RuffRidr made the classic explanation that Jadegold did it first and you guys are just responding.
Zorro, ever eloquent, explained that it's because Jadegold deserves it.
You guys are tough nuts to crack.
