Rachel Maddow Explains How It Works

She's talking about the big stuff, but this is exactly how the gun-rights bloggers do. via Liberality

  1. So she is saying the Navy did not send 34 ships to the Indian Ocean and Eric Holder is not anti-gun.

    What a twit.

  2. Na, she said Eric Holder hasn’t gotten anything done against guns. Carefully worded, and correct.

  3. So she's saying that Dan Rather jumped on a story without confirming it and the liberal news media trumpeted that story loudly until some conservatives proved it false?

Welcome to the age of "infotainment".

  4. My God! Where to begin? Nobody can deconstruct this madness in such a clear and entertaining way as Rachel. My hat is off. I need to elaborate.

1.) Even if it did cost $200M/diem, who needs to hear some whining hater decry this non-fact? Wouldn't it be worth a couple of billion to cement our future with India? We're discussing a bright future with a wonderful people. We might not have a president this smart and nice for a long time.

2.) It is quite quirky that a sitting member of congress can parrot this line of bullshit and hardly be called out.

3.) FOX news plays on the basest of human foibles. It was Hitler and Stalin who first funded research into this fascinating field of human behavior modification.

4.) Like the gambler, alcoholic or cigarette smoker, devotees of FOX cannot do without this constant reinforcement and they get cranky and out-of-sorts when deprived.

5.) Cheney was probably the first public figure to exhibit this strange, new addiction. It seemed understandable that the author of torture, war, deregulation... would appreciate a cheerleader.

6.) The nearest parallel in the post-war western world surely must be TASS and Granma, the Soviet era news services. Although we have free speech in the U.S.A. and no one, (or hopefully not very many people,) are forced to watch this, the similarity cannot be overlooked.

  5. Right on, FJ.

FWM, Why do you hate her so much? Do you think she's a lesbian vampire?

  6. I do not hate her, I pity her and hope she is able to one day defeat her reptilesbian overlord.

  7. "FWM, Why do you hate her so much? Do you think she's a lesbian vampire?"

That's getting too complicated; it's because she's a smart woman who's not afraid to call out and ridicule the idiots who think Fox IS a news outlet.

Rachel Maddow has more smarts than the entire stable of unstables over at Rupert's Home for the Deranged.

The lesbian vampire thing is just a tantalizing cherry on the heaping helping of reichwing indignation at Maddow's having the balls that her male contemporaries lack.

I assume that AM is blathering about the "Champagne Flight" debacle. It is important to note that ex-pretendsident and dry drunk G. W. Bush never offered, afaia, anything to rebut the charges that he did not fulfill his commitment. Instead, he relied--as usual--on others to muddy the water, deflect attention and attack Rather. Rather, btw, is someone I never liked and I was happy to see him go.

And the ratings bear it out so.

  9. Just who is this Mad Cow woman, & why should I care what she thinks?

I think she is some sort of commentator on one of those fringe news channels that don't have much audience. Commies and Socialists seem to watch it but thankfully they don't have much audience either.

  11. Behavior modification. Propaganda. Addiction.

What do ratings matter under these circumstances?

Limbaugh has good ratings. No sane person can listen to him.

  12. I didn't know Rachel had poor ratings. If that's true I'll bet it changes. She's great.
