This one reminds me of the skeet and target shooters. Like video games, it's all about killing other people. Fortunately only a certain percentage of people lack the maturity and mental health to draw the line, but that percentage is much too large. All you have to do is scan the gun blogs on the internet to see what I mean.A toy gun made to look like a .45 caliber handgun was found in the car. “The subject did not realize that he pointed the gun at an officer and told the officer he was an avid gamer and had always wondered what it would be like to point a gun at a real person and pull the trigger,” Asmus said. He was charged with unlawful exhibit/display of a weapon.

Just this morning I heard a news report about a teen-ager who called in a fake carjacking and then, while driving the car he had reported stolen, was pulled over by the cops. He pointed a pelletgun (which apparently looked enough like a semi-automatic handgun to the cops) at the police. They shot him, he's dead.
ReplyDeleteNot the happy ending that allathem combat games are willing to deliver, if only you can kill enough of the "other".
democommie, That sounds just like what the kid in this story did. Maybe this is a new teenage dare.
