As the article details, both parties put on their stupid hats in this event. And it appears that there is only he said/she said evidence. Otherwise, he would be looking at felony aggravated assault instead of brandishing. Wonder what it will be reduced to through plea bargain.
ReplyDeleteDamn those fat, middle-aged, white men.
ReplyDeleteOh . . . wait.
The story is a changin, the charges are a changin, and the prosecuter's office still hasnt made a decision to charge yet. It still seems to be boiling down to both parties behaving badly and it being hard to decide who to believe. The charge seems to have changed from brandishing to second degree domestic assault.
ReplyDeleteThough in a different article, "Mr. Williams Williams and the woman gave differing accounts to police, though according to court documents Williams admitted to police that he pulled a gun, but didn't point it at anyone. The woman told police that Williams pointed the gun at her."
I can feel for the police in trying to figure out what really happened, and glad they are seeming to take an unbiased look into things.
From what you say there, it sounds like they went for brandishing since they didn't think they could prove, beyond a reasonable doubt, that he actually pointed it, but considering his admission, they can lock it up on the brandishing.
