More on the Missouri Gun Range Shooting Death

A South American woman has died in an apparent accidental shooting at a northeast Missouri gun range.
The Ralls County Sheriff's Department says the shooting happened Sunday at the Salt River Gun Range near New London. Authorities say 25-year-oldAndrea Jinneth Corredor-Rivera of Colombia died at the scene.
Corredor-Rivera died of a single self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. Ralls County Sheriff Gerry Dinwiddie tells WGEM-TV that the woman was shooting a .500-caliber Smith & Wesson handgun when the strength of the gun's recoil caused her to lose control. She was visiting family in the area.
The sheriff said the gun spun around in her hand, leading to a second fatal shot. No charges are expected in the case.

  1. But, but... I thought shooting ranges were havens of safe gun practices and education on the four rules....

    1. Out of the tens of thousands of gun ranges, only a handful of incidents like this happen, and most of those are suicides. Why can't you people learn math?

    2. Only a handful are reported in the media, too.

    3. Greg, why can't you learn that life if precious? Your continual attempt to justify the loss of life using what you call math is despicable.

    4. Of course, life is precious. But violating the rights of many people because of the actions of a few is no way to protect life. Life is precious precisely because it allows people to choose, and gun control is about removing choice.

To respond specifically to Oregonian, though, it's so cute how the absence of evidence is evidence for many in your mind.

    5. The seat belt law is about removing choice, and the motorcycle helmet law. Also, those laws are forced on the people for their own good.

Interestingly, the comparison to gun control really works because guns do more harm than good. Even you gun fetishists would benefit.

      "Of course, life is precious."
I find that to be a lie, and refer you to your own statements, which I posted on the Sunnyvale post.
Add to that your complete lack of care that people are dying needlessly from gun shots.

    7. Greg says life is precious but not precious enough to do what he wrongly calls "removing choice." I suppose you could characterize gun control laws as removing choice from good people, but so does any law.

  2. Maybe automobiles should be more difficult to buy and get licenses for as they cause more deaths per year than firearms!!!
