Gregory McGraw told police he was trying to unload a pistol belonging to his girlfriend at a home in the 1700 block of Eden Street when he had trouble opening the gun to remove the bullets.
McGraw told police that when he tried to cock the weapon to breach the firing chamber, the gun discharged and the bullet struck him in the left calf and then through the living room floor.
When questioned about the wound to his hand, McGraw said he had his hand on his calf when the gun discharged.
Do you think that was his first incident of gun misuse? I don't. Do you think it'll be his last?
That's why we need to take violations of the safety rules more seriously. People who demonstrate their inability to safely handle guns should lose their right to own them.
