arma virumque cano (et alia)
I wonder how much of the last several days was orchestrated by the police and how many of these plot twists were thrust on them. It certainly blows a big hole in the mom going out to dispense vigilante justice for someone driving poorly scenario. It seems that she wasn't going out hunting down a stranger, but rather looking for him to provide some on the spot mentoring. So there was no real expectation of the potential for a violent confrontation. It will also be interesting to see what the assailant and his thug buddies are like.
"but rather looking for him to provide some on the spot mentoring."Right, she picked up her son with the gun and went looking for him, to mentor him? You would be funny if you were not so sick.
Good point, Fred. What say you, ss?
I didn't answer this one because I had sent you the most recent article that detailed that the son had urged his mother to call the police and only went along because the alternative was her going without him.
If you only explain to Mike, you can't expect me not to point out your ridiculous comments. You claimed she was going out to mentor the kid.
My claim was based on the sources used by Mike or the ones I cited. And Mike did post the article I mentioned in my comment. I was replying to Mike and not you, hopefully to continue the discussion in the more current thread.
I get it, your not responsible for what you say, thanks.
I actually agree with SS above except for middle paragraph. It seems that she wasn't going out hunting down a stranger, but rather looking for him to provide some on the spot mentoring. So there was no real expectation of the potential for a violent confrontation. That is - if this person had a gun the "no real expectation of the potential for a violent confrontation" has no validity. None! If there are witnesses or what have you and if this women had a gun we will never know what actually happened. I see today they threw pot into the mix as well. Took a long time to get to this point. Imagine the manpower that went into this and still ongoing.
"That is - if this person had a gun the "no real expectation of the potential for a violent confrontation" has no validity. None! If there are witnesses or what have you and if this women had a gun we will never know what actually happened." I don't think I've seen any of the stories stating that the mother was armed. All I've seen in every story spoke of the son being armed. As for the son being armed, we don't know if he routinely carries, like I do for instance, or if he armed himself based on the situation. However, the presence of the gun by the son had no effect on the outcome. If the assailant fired first, the presence of the gun carried by the son has no bearing except in forcing the assailant to flee. If as the story progresses, there was some escalation in the way of threatening behavior, then the argument could be made that the son's firearm was a factor. But we haven't heard anything along those lines yet. But, as we've seen with this event, who knows what will come out next.
On one hand, we have a father and four children who have lost a wife and mother. On the other hand we have a psychologically disturbed teenager who thinks that he can walk by telling everyone that he killed the person who was trying to kill him. I doubt that the orphaned son is very likely to be charged with any crime whatsoever since he was lucky enough not to kill anyone. The other guy is going to prison. There are people who enjoy the pleasure of owning and firing weapons. There are nuts who think that they need to carry a weapon with them everywhere they go. (I guess that's your category.) There are also idiots who jump in cars and go looking for violent confrontations with their guns loaded and their minds on fire.I know that there are untold thousands of U.S. citizens who honestly believe that they can use a gun to solve a problem. Usually this defective way of thinking ends with murder, mayhem and heartbreak.I used to laugh at bloggers who were so adamant about keeping guns out of the hands of criminals and drug dealers. For crying out loud. At least most criminals and drug dealers aren't crazy.
That's a lot of ifs.
RIP Tammy..Rest knowing that many of us know you tried to help this scumbag better his life, and he showed his thanks to you with bullet to your head......I cant wait for this scumbag to get into the Nevada State prison system where I can assure you he will be well taken care of
You're doing a lot of mind reading, don't you think? And how can YOU ensure anything about his incarceration. Maybe he'll find Jesus or convert to Islam.
Considering I live not to far from where this occurred and have spoken with many in my community about this unfortunate event... no I dont think Im reading minds.....I know a number of Nevada State corrections officers and they have assured me they will protect Mr Nowsch .....
