Rep. Anthony Weiner

Thanks to Litbrit over at Cogitamus.

How I wish we had forty more Democrats like Anthony Weiner and Alan Grayson.

  1. Mike- Now you've done it. You've identified yourself with the Democrats! Looks like your weiner is roasted now! You may have greatly offended your faithful, the gun-lovers- the card carrying, dual membership, GOP/NRA nuts who vilify you day after day.

    Mustard anyone?

  2. It seems to me that everyone in DC is corporate bought and sold. Look at Obama's heath plan. Must buy insurance, no mandate or tax breaks for employers to get insurance, no single payer or public option. Who is that supposed to help?

  3. Why would I villify Mikeb for associating with Democrats? There are plenty of Democrats who are pro-gun rights.

Very true. Check out this Democratic Undrground comment thread about the rampage at the ABB plant in St. Louis in early January.

Most of the discussion about guns was the kind of thing that we've been saying all along--that mandated defenselessness helps only the killers.

Almost all the anti-rights comments came from one guy who, as he got smacked down, reacted in the usual fashion of forcible citizen disarmament advocates--getting increasingly agitated and shrill. And the pro-self-defense folks, as we generally do, became more and more amused.

    Good times.

There was a time--not so long ago--that the anti-gun folks could consider the Democratic Party a reliable ally. That time seems to be coming to an end.

Where will the anti-gunners go now--the Communist Party?

...and there are plenty of republicans who aren't. This becoming less and less of an asses vs. elephants issue.

  6. If anything, the battle for gun rights is more geographically based than party based.

  7. In the Ohio gubernatorial race this year, The Democratic incumbent is pro gun while his Republican rival proudly voted for the Clinton assault weapons ban. In the race for Attorney General, the Democratic incumbent is pro gun and pro CCW while the Republican challenger is a Brady turd.

What silly little letter is beside their name makes little difference any more. Look what a Bill Of Rights hater John McCain is? Not only does he hate the second, he hates the first amendment as well.

Only a moron would vote FOR it.

  9. mud_rake,

Exactly! Anyone that would swear an oath to protect and defend the Constitution then turn around and vote for the Clinton ban cannot be trusted.
