SFGate reports.
A federal appeals court panel ruled Monday that gun show promoters have failed to show that a ban on firearms at the Alameda County Fairgrounds violates their right to keep and bear arms.
Rather than dismissing the promoters' 12-year-old lawsuit, however, the Ninth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco gave the plaintiffs another chance to produce evidence that the ban unreasonably restricts law-abiding citizens' ability to obtain guns for self-defense.
What's your opinion? Please leave a comment,
12 years, eh? Eeesh. Can't get a hint that the rest of us don't want to be endangered, and that there's nothing illegal in the ban.
ReplyDeleteWhy allow another appeal? Just dragging out the inevitable.
Because.....
ReplyDeleteDistrict of Columbia v. Heller
McDonald v. Chicago
....were wins for us gunloons, and now we are going to force all you GFW to remove from the books as many stupid gun laws as possible.......
Woah, I thought gun control wasn’t against gunshows, they just want background checks on private sales that occur there. Why do you support a ban on gunshows, Baldr? And why should we believe other gun controllers when they say they only want background checks?
ReplyDeleteTS, Aren't they talking about gun shows at that one particular fair grounds? Why are you generalizing it?
ReplyDeleteThe point of the post is it's not all peaches and cream for you guys in spite of Heller and McDonald.

Because after we get done browbeating you with the courts in CA it will put a stop to you gun grabbing idiots elsewhere/everywhere.

Right back at ya Mikey....
Mike, it is because this demonstrates that gun control groups are trying to shut down gunshows- not just have background checks there. This is despite the insistent claims otherwise. If they are not against gunshows, and CA law has background checks and waiting periods on all sales FFL and private, why support a ban? And it is not just one gunshow. They have tried to shutdown every gunshow in the bay area.
ReplyDeleteYou see, we don’t have to believe the NRA when they tell us what gun controllers really want. We can look to places where they already have the “reasonable regulations” that they say they are ONLY after, and see what their “next step” is.

It is not peaches and cream in California, and it never will be. Nationally you guys are getting hosed, so you come home and kick the dog (the poor beleaguered citizens of California).
I think they should build a wall around California and require a Visa to get in. Naturally, you'll have to pass through a metal detector too. Then we can talk about how well the gun control is working over there.
