arma virumque cano (et alia)
Religion is a narrative means of understanding the world. For many, it provides meaning. The problem is that some have to use force to compel others to follow the religion. Doubters and infidels make the meaning of the weak-minded evaporate.
Do you think it is possible that the State, in compliance with the current U.S. constitution, may prohibit the exercise, endorsement, and membership of any religious institution which act contrary to the goals and obligations of the State? Is cult activity protected under the First Amendment?
So the Second Amendment isn't the only one that you fail to comprehend. Not surprising. Both the U.S. Constitution and many state constitutions forbid any establishment of an official church or bans on free exercise of religion. What country are you referring to?
The U.S. constitution mandates that "government may make no establishment of religion". Nothing within the First Amendment disallows the State from sanctioning against organized religion, as such a prohibition would not enact an official religion, so long as it only serves to disallow such religious belief, as opposed to mandating any particular or non-specific belief. Also, many countries do in fact endow their subjects with more enforceable and substantial rights than the current U.S. constitution makes provision for.
Another tissue of errors from E.N.:1. Have you forgotten the free-exercise clause in the First Amendment? Our government is barred from prohibiting the free exercise of religion. That amendment is incorporated against the states.2. Constitutions do not endow people with rights. Humans are born with rights that some constitutions recognize and defend.3. Americans aren't subjects. We're citizens. We give a small measure of power to our government, but we're the source, and we retain vast power for ourselves.
This should be the message of anyone who can think for themselves and understands the bullshit is nothing more than pure shit! Thanks Cenk and you were too damn nice. These crazy fuck deserve much less.I'm stealing this mb.
Be my guest.
mikeb302000:I'm not sure what's causing the problem but those startbuttons for the videos are not working.I actually don't need to see anything by Cenk or anyone else to know that fundies are whackaloonz--there may be some entertainment value, just not any new information--on a par with the birthers, flat earthers and other denialist fuckwitz out there in the great patchwork of clinical dementia that is the U.S. ReiKKKwing.
You're right there's no new info, but Cenk gets really worked up and it's worth seeing if you can find it.
You know what the opposite of a Truther is, right - a liar.orlin sellers
That's funny, I feel the same way as Cenk about you morons who believe in government and its dumb ass laws. And like the fundies, you can't see how effing stupid you are.Like there is no difference between Ds & Rs, there is no difference between fundies and Obama/government worshipers.orlin sellers
Lint for Brains (orlin sellers:"there is no difference between fundies and Obama/government worshipers."No, Government actually does good. I doubt that god-worshipers could claim substantial evidence of their mystical beings contributing to human existence.
E.N., here's one piece of evidence: the music of Bach. Bach wrote much of his music for the church, and it has certainly contributed to human existence. There are many other examples, but you only asked for substantial evidence.
EN said, "Government actually does good. I doubt that god-worshipers could claim substantial evidence of their mystical beings contributing to human existence."Maybe you can make a list of things government contributes because I am hard-pressed to think of anything. But personally, I enjoy the sun, the water, the mountains, the oceans and seas, the fertile soil, the fauna & flora, the natural resources, and the 4 seasons. I don't know where that mythical stuff comes from, but I know it ain't the government.orlin sellers

Then tell me how the gummint doesn't do anything for citizens. You really ought to be grateful for your autonomic nervous system because it's pretty obvious that you don't have enough brains to remember to breathe.I used to think that rubes like you and Greg Campin'outonbizzaroworld were just loony about teh gunz. I find that I must revise the estimate, both of you are just plain fucking nuts.
You call me fucking nuts because I'm defending freedom of religion? That says just about everything we need to know about you.
Hey, Mikeb, can you pass this video of Jamie Foxx at the Soul Train Awards last night over to Cenk.http://www.mrctv.org/orlin sellers
Yeah, that's pretty stupid.
Yer funny DC! And The Largest Polluter On The Planet Award Goes TO....Wait for it.....http://www.projectcensored.org/top-stories/articles/2-us-department-of-defense-is-the-worst-polluter-on-the-planet/Thank you very much, orlin sellers
Orlon, honey:The DoD is the largest polluter that is IDENTIFIED. It's idiots like you that want to blame the gummint for everything that doesn't work in your own life and yet you use the roadways, bridges, public spaces, water, electricity and other infrastructure items to get through your nasty, mean and brutishly stupid life. Or, maybe I'm wrong and you don't use any of those things. Oh, except you're on the FUCKING INTERNET, DOUCHEBAG. Iffen ya rilly want to get out from under da man, you gotz to stop usin' his shit, dude.
Only an idiot would defend government roads that kill scores of thousands of people every year, that are under construction at peak travel times, that are parking lots at rush hour, and were the brain-child of Hitler.Way to go Democommie, but what can one expect from an idiot socialist.Btw, if roads were privately built and there were 50,000 death on them, what exactly do you think the public outcry would be.Did I mention you look foolish in that dunce cap?orlin sellers
