More on Michael Dunn - The Florida Killer Formerly a Lawful Gun Owner with CCW Permit

I guess I was right the other day when I said he probably had a concealed carry permit. The system which supposedly keeps track of how many of them turn out to be bad guys is flawed, to say the least.  But, in this case the media happened to get ahold of the fact.

My other prediction still remains to be fulfulled. I say he'll use the "stand your ground" defense, which in Florida is a pretty good bet.

What's your opinion?  Please leave a comment.

  1. I thought he had invoked Florida's "get away with murder" law. I know he's tailoring his defence to fit the ticket.

    1. The "stand your ground" law is the same thing as the "get away with murder" law.

    1. Note the willingness of the left to use violence (he is presumably referring to capital punishment via electrocution) as a means to fulfill a political agenda.

  3. His story is so typical of NRA wacks. He is someplace in the public. He as a fascist is forcing others to do things, and this fascist crap tells these kids to turn down their music. Why was this fascist gunwack telling them anything? Because he is a fascist gunwack, and that is what fascist gunwacks do.

  4. The video had no relevant information, so we've learned nothing new. We'd already been told that he has a carry license--his lawyer said that in the original article that you cited. What's interesting to note here is that the comments above all have decided that he's guilty of murder. Anyone who considers hiring Laci as a defense attorney should pay attention.

But once again, do you, Mikeb, have any evidence that the system for checking on carry licenses if flawed? You speculate a lot, but show us no proof.

    1. It appears that this blog serves as a bug lamp to the denizens of dimly-lit basements, as a digital haven for deranged leftists, in which radicalism may fester unabated by logic.

How else do you explain the digital gathering of Laci, E.N., Demmocommie, and the death-worshiping anonymous, to name a few?

    2. Greg, I don't think it said he was a concealed carry guy in the original article. I made an educated guess and turned out to be right. As you informed us yourself, any idiot can get a Florida license with almost no requirements.

    3. The original news article quoted his lawyer about his license. But regarding the requirements, a background check and training aren't enough for you? That's the same level of requirement for working in a residential treatment facility for youths. I know because I've worked in one and I have a license to carry. Your goal is to see that getting a license is so difficult that no one bothers.

Lots of people will carry guns, anyway, but they'll be the kind that you always defend.

    4. Greg, you really have a hard time admitting you're wrong. Thanks for finally and reluctantly doing so.

My goal is not to make it so difficult no one will bother. That's ridiculous. My goal is to weed out the unfit.

    5. On the key point, I wasn't wrong. He was identified as having a license in an early article on the subject.

I agree that your goal is ridiculous, but you've shown no evidence for having any other. The restrictions that you want would make gun ownership so expensive and time-consuming that many would just give up on the legal route. You want us to have laws like D.C. across the country. No thanks.

  5. Oh he's employing the stand your ground offense. After first suffering the horrific auditory assault, a phantom shotgun was seen and threats somehow heard from inside the car over the blaring music caused him to walk back to his car and walk back to his ground next to the car and open up with 9 shots.

Clear cut case of a Real American defending himself. Not Guilty!

  6. "The original news article quoted his lawyer about his license."

Wrong*, unless you're referring to the story in your head, instead of the one that mikeb302000 actually, like HAD in his OP on the matter.

    1. Ah, so it doesn't. I read a similar article over at The Truth About Guns. The point is that his possession of a carry license has been known since shortly after the incident.

  7. It appears that this Dunn somehow if this above video is believable just somehow Lost it. Was he drunk when he pulled his gun, surely No Sane person could think it was OK to do what he did. An argument is one thing, pulling a gun and shooting into a crowd of people is a Far Far different situation. I honestly believe Dunn is lying when he states he saw a gun in the victims SUV. I also believe he Dunn fled the scene because he was intoxicated(he was buying wine) and Dun knew that he had totally screwed-up. This man Dunn either had some deep seated emotional problems or people around him are covering up what type of person he is. What most people want to do is to first let their emotional side of their mind figure out their thoughts on this issue. In that case Dunn is some how some sort of monster that was lurking out in public ready to spring on an innocent at any minute. However; I hope that we all think deeper about this incident. IMHO Dunn let his emotions get the best of himself, he was probably Drunk maybe even very drunk. He felt his Manhood threatened when a young man smaller in stature did not back down. This young man egged on by his immediate friends saw some Large White Man approach his suv where he was MAYBE playing the music too loud. Then the Larger White man got into an argument over Telling the Younger black man to turn said music down. Neither MAN would back down, so Dunn felt he had to shove his weight/stature around and in his drunken state start shooting into the suv. Dunn could be completely lying about even if the music was too loud in the suv, we just do not know at this point all the specifics. What we do know and is fact, are that a Young man at the prime of his life was taken from us NEEDLESSLY. If You go Looking for Trouble, Trouble will find you. And so many variations of the Trouble saying. I feel so sorry for Davis family and friends. Such a tragedy, needless violence for what ? All in the sake of PRIDE on both their parts..Maybe we just do not know. I hope Mr. Dunn gets the death penalty, no punishment could come close to the crime he has committed to this young man and onto society as well. We all suffer when anyone uses a Gun in an Offensive manner, surely the only threat was from Mr. Dunn and to his own Pride.
