A woman in Brighton says she accidentally shot her husband to death after hearing an intruder and grabbing the family shotgun:
At approximately 5:30 a.m. Sunday, Brewer woke up from sleeping with her husband in their home on Tenn. 14 South and believed she heard an intruder. Authorities said Brewer got a shotgun from the couple’s gun case, loaded and cocked the weapon, then proceeded to look out of the front and back of the home but did not see anyone.Authorities said Brewer then went to wake her husband, 37-year-old William “Stan” Brewer Jr. and placed the weapon on the bed, pointing the barrel of the gun at his head. The TBI said when Brewer leaned over to awaken her husband, her hand was on the weapon and the shotgun discharged, shooting and killing him.
Brewer has been arrested and the shooting is under investigation.
Gunsucks are stupid and do stupid shit all the time. I expect Greg will do this any day now.
ReplyDeleteCare to put up some money where your mouth is?
DeleteNot looking like an accident anymore.
ReplyDeleteBRIGHTON, TN -
(WMC-TV) - Angela Brewer originally told deputies she shot and killed her husband after she thought she heard an intruder outside.
Monday her story completely changed.
In a warrant filed late Monday afternoon, the 43-year-old woman admitted to loading a shotgun then shooting and killing her husband, 37-year-old William "Stan" Brewer.
The shooting happened early Sunday morning inside their Brighton home.
"We're continuing to work with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation in the weekend shooting on Highway 14," said Tipton County Sheriff's Office Chief Donna Turner.
Brewer was originally charged with reckless homicide and aggravated assault resulting in death. But after being questioned, those charges have now been upgraded to second degree murder.

I'm curious to know if I've met Southern Beale. I lived in the Nashville area for ten years and had a number of friends who shared her positions.
ReplyDeleteAnyone who does not know who and what they are shooting at, are negligent if they shoot. Gun loons accept ridiculous "accident" excuses because they are gun loon idiots.
ReplyDeleteWhich has no relevance here, since this is looking more and more like murder.
DeleteMy comment was not aimed at this individual, but the many gun loons who do not know what they are shooting at, and kill people. Then claim it was an accident, like he thought he was shooting at a rabbit, but killed a human. Then they walk with no punishment.
DeleteThe kind of stories Mike posts everyday that you dismiss because you don't care about life.
I do care about life, and I don't dismiss stories. I either leave them alone when they speak for themselves, or I have something to say.
DeleteYour silence is exposing your cowardice.
DeleteBrave Anonymous, calling someone a coward from the safety of a computer. I post under my own name. If you're going to call me a coward, how about having the courage to do the same?
DeleteGo ahead give me a moniker, I will use it.
DeleteI use my own name. How about you do the same when you're calling me a coward?
DeleteYou have proven to everyone on this site you are a criminal lying coward. How about you respond to your statements that prove you are a lying criminal coward, as Steve has asked? You are the one demanding a name, so give me one. It has no bearing on the issue, but just another one of your dishonest tactics to not answer.
DeleteWhy did you stop using "Steve"?
DeleteBecause I decided to stop playing your game. YOU named me Steve, but I'm not Steve. You thought that was funny but all it did was make you look stupid trying to keep the comments straight. Your stupidity is glaring. I'm having a good laugh watching it blow up in your face.
Delete"Anyone who does not know who and what they are shooting at, are negligent if they shoot."
DeleteI love it, the site liar says that statement has no relevance.
Laughable, if people were not dying because gun loons are shooting without knowing what they are shooting at.
So you enjoyed it, had good laughs about it, and it "made me look stupid". Remind me again why you stopped?
DeleteI just did. How stupid are you, or can you not read?
DeleteAnon, its looking now like the police aren't buying the accident story. Hence changing the charges from reckless homicide to second degree murder.
ReplyDeleteWell, that's a relief. It wasn't a lawful gun owner so stupid that she accidentally shot someone, it was a lawful gun owner who went over to the dark side altogether. That's much better for your side.
DeleteMikeb, you're playing word games again. Do you figure we should prevent people from becoming bankers on the grounds that some will be frauds? Or should we make marriage licenses may-issue because some people will cheat?
DeleteIt's the nature of our legal system that we treat people who haven't done anything wrong as good citizens. If they do something wrong, that status changes.
And it's because of that that we need to screen people better for gun ownership. It would be a minor inconvenience for the truly law-abiding and responsible ones and it would identify some of the worst of the worst.
DeleteOf course, you want to leave it as it is. You don't mind the number of deaths we have now.
And since you keep ignoring the fact that our rates of violence are at a decades-long low, no thanks to gun control, you'll have to excuse me for not uncritically supporting what you want.
DeleteViolence is at an all time low, so there is no need for carrying a gun in public. You only have your paranoia and lies to base your ideology on. Sad.
DeleteAnon, the decision on whether you feel the need to carry for self defense is a personal one. The consequences of whether to carry or not is born by me. The problem is that where I don't get that choice due to the government saying I don't have a need, doesn't obligate the government to any consequences for that decision.
DeleteYeah, the consequences of that decision, like what, like all the times you've used you gun to save the day? Good grief, imagine if you'd been unarmed.
DeleteFace it, unless you have a dangerous job or like to buy crack in the ghetto once in a while, you don't need a gun. But because you and millions like you are paranoid and insecure we have a gross problem with gun availability to the unfit. They get their guns from you.
Mikeb, you're mighty free with that accusation of insecurity and paranoia. And yet you're might short on facts when it comes to substantiating your claim.
DeleteI understand you guys are lying cowards, so if you need to take a gun with you just to take a shit, go ahead, but leave your dangerous paranoia at home and make public life safe for peaceful citizens.
DeleteThis has nothing to do with government making a decision for you. You have the right, but if crime is so low, explain the need you have to carry?
DeleteNo response from the cowards.
DeleteA gun in the home is 22X more likely to harm a family member than to protect them....
ReplyDeleteTrotting out the Kellermann study again? I thought it was forty-three times more risk. Feel free not to own a gun, if this is what you believe. But don't try to prevent those of us who choose to own guns from doing so.
DeleteIt's not so much that we're trying to prevent you from doing what you want as we're pointing out what a stupid decision you've made for yourself.
DeleteGreg's motto: kill the messenger, ignore the facts.
DeleteFalse, Mikeb. You want to do a lot more than speak.
DeleteLying criminal cowards, are stupid.
