The NRA - Then and Now

  1. And now that you mention it, All those old "may issue" Concealed carry laws--they were proposed by the Handgun Owners Association in the 1930s, which has been absorbed into the NRA. Not only that, the NRA really didn't have a problem with many of the gun laws that current members dislike.

  2. This only shows that times change and some people learn. Shall we look at other organizations over the same period--the Democratic Party, for example?

    1. Good little NRA gun loon, change the subject.

    2. More bullshit from gun control freaks. They can't figure out relevance unless it agrees with their position.

    3. Right, it's relevant to have a racist on the NRA board instead of the rational people NRA had until 1985. Ted Nugent does not represent my position. I would think you NRA gun loons would be ashamed to have Nugent representing you, but not with the criminal thinking you have. How come Nugent isn't dead, or in jail?

    4. I simply don't care about Ted Nugent. But since he keeps your attention occupied, he's doing something useful.

    5. We know you don't care about deaths. Tell us something new.

    6. Curious how you equate "Ted Nugent" with "deaths." Where did you buy your dictionary?

    7. It's amazing you support such lunacy as Nugent's but then you are the site criminal lying coward.

    8. Greg, it's odd that you don't condemn Ted Nugent for being the draft-dodging, child-molesting, unabashed racist and poacher that he is. Why would you defend someone like that?

    9. Mikeb, I realize that this is incomprehensible to you, but I don't defend Nugent. I simply don't care about him.

    10. You allow him to represent your precious NRA, without calling for his resignation from the NRA. Silence is telling.

    11. No, I don't "allow" him. He's elected by the rules of the organization. I don't care enough about him to tell him to do anything. Unlike your side, I don't feel the need to meddle with everyone I have a disagreement with. In fact, leave my rights alone, and you'll find me to be an agreeable sort of person.

    12. He speaks for your side of the gun issue. He is a racist. No surprise you follow the NRA, you are a racist.

  3. Where are the lying gun loons explaining how the NRA went from this sane approach, to the racist, kill happy organization it is today. You NRA puppets, please explain how the NRA enjoys being represented by a racist board member like Ted Nugent?

    1. This comment thread is pretty spare.

    2. It's sparse because what else is there to say beyond the fact that some people and groups learn better ways over time?

    3. That's one way to look at it, another is that some groups become corrupted by special interests and over a short few decades become actually unrecognizable.

  4. Could be worse, they could be as popular as a certain former New York City Mayor.....

"According to a new NBC/Wall Street Journal poll, the NRA is viewed favorably by 39% or those polled, while only 31% view the civil rights organization unfavorably. New York City Mayor Mike Bloomberg, however, is upside down at 19%-24%."
