Quote of the Day

Speaking out against the gun lobbies has brought online bullies, but more importantly, it has brought on allies. They are the reason I wrote those pieces in the first place. The takeaway is the people I have connected with despite all of the harassment and bullying. Progress is being made.

Stalk me online, insult me, and smear my name. The harder you try to stop me, the harder I will push forward. The key is to look for reasonable people on both sides of the debate who won’t act like grade schoolers. Ignore all the rest.

If gun lobby supporters can’t act like responsible adults on the Internet, they certainly can’t be trusted to be responsible with firearms. And helping to expose them as such will help to solve America’s gun violence issues. If they wish to illustrate why they need to be opposed, that only helps the rest of us identify them as part of the problem.

  1. The same could be said of gun control advocates.

    1. Baloney.

Most of the hardcore gunloons have a financial stake in promoting gunloonery. Even bloggers with hit counts consisting only of themselves often get gun industry paid ads. And those promoted by the NRA are usually those who have a financial stake in the industry.

So, where's all the gun control money?

    2. ss,I really can't believe you compare the two sides when it comes to being nasty and offensive. In this the gun rights fanatics win hands down.

    3. SS, give us your example of someone on the anti gun side who spews the hate and racism like your NRA representative Ted Nugent.

Why so defensive, Greg? You want guns for the mentally ill, guns for felons, guns for everyone. This means, INEVITABLY, that murders, mass murders, will be committed. I merely want YOU and YOUR FAMILY to get the brunt of YOUR POLICIES about guns. I don't want mass murders, but when they come, I want the people on the front lines to be NRA members and their families. I light a candle everytime some gunsuck NRA asshole is wounded. They are my enemy."

And in all honesty, Mike's site is quite mild. You should see the welcome you get on Southern Beale's site.

    5. There are anomalies, but by and large, the gun control folks are better behaved than the gun rights side. Your side has more extremists and they are very vocal. There's no comparison, certainly not between Southern Beale and Ted Nugent, as you inferred.

    6. Does Nick hold a national position of consequence like Nugent? See the newest post about child molester NRA representative.

  2. First it was felonies, then they added domestic misdemeanors, and now they want to add "being rude on the internet" to the list of NICS disqualifications.

    1. It's quite a bit more than 'being rude on the internet.'

Being rude on the internet is calling you stupid. When I post your address and suggest that I or someone should help you meet your maker that's quite another matter.

    2. TS, did someone say being rude on the internet should be a disqualifier? No, of course not. That's you lying about us again.

Isn't what we really do say bad enough for you?

    4. Well, that is a bit of a leap, but at least you didn't make it up out of nothing as I thought. I take back the "lying" remark with apologies.

  3. When they have to lie to try and make their points I know they have lost. There will always be a certain percentage that will listen to, agree with, and act on the hate and bullying of scum like a Nugent. He is only one example, but is a national spokesperson for the NRA. He is a bully who likes to incite people and it doesn't take much to incite these hate filled gun loons.
