arma virumque cano (et alia)
I eagerly await your documentation of my extolling him as a "hero."
Isn't he? Did I have the wrong impression?
Isn't he?Perhaps my standards for "hero" status are higher than yours, but no, he isn't. About the only thing I know about Munden is that he was an extraordinarily skilled shooter. I admire great skill, but it's not enough to make someone a "hero" in my eyes. Lon Horiuchi is presumably very highly skilled with a gun, and I would still happily drop a couple C-notes for tickets to see him die screaming.Did I have the wrong impression?Either that, or you lied. Which would you prefer?
Blurring the line between hero and admiration hardly amounts to a lie. But you knew that, right?
"Lon Horiuchi is presumably very highly skilled with a gun, and I would still happily drop a couple C-notes for tickets to see him die screaming."WOW !!You gun loons just love death and killing.
Mr Munden was one of the most skilled shooters to ever fire a gun, I aspire to be able to hit an 8inch balloon at 600 yards with a .44 MAG like he was able to do. Whats with the childish attempt to agitate Kurt for no reason Mike you got nothing better to do?
"Whats with the childish attempt to agitate Kurt for no reason Mike you got nothing better to do?" While quite presumptuous of Mike, a man could do much worse than looking to Mr. Munden as a role model. He appears to have lived a long honorable life with nothing to be ashamed of. What is sort of amusing is what seems to be an attempt by Mike to make fun of Kurt somehow suggesting that his admiration of this man's skills is unseemly. And while the showmanship that highlights the obviously very old interview might not be smooth or modern, his obvious talent and skill outshines it.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TH6EC5P-au0
That was neither a "childish attempt to agitate Kurt" nor a "presumption" on my part. Kurt provided the link. I think Munden is absolutely amazing and, as you said, Kurt could do a lot worse.
Kurt needs no help being made to look funny, he does that quite well on his own.
