This will not endear me to Greg, but teachers in general are brain-washed twits, NEA zombies, who couldn't teach their way out of a paper bag. Anyone interested in education for their children would get them out of the government schools as quickly as possible. The whole system is nothing but indoctrination to make compliant, non-thinking workers and cannon fodder.
Thank your gods for the John Taylor Gattos of the world.
How about we do both? But I want to be armed in my classroom, and I'm sure that my view is representative of a lot of teachers. Your side's all about choice, so long as we choose only what you approve of.
I have no interest in forcing people to carry weapons against their will. The very idea is absurd. While I have, admittedly, not investigated it, I know of no individual or group who has suggested such a thing.
Now, I do not speak for the NRA. I speak only for myself so I presume her final paragraph is not intended for me. It doesn't really matter if it is. As a parent with kids in school I will express my thoughts and opinions regarding schools and safety as long as it takes to bring about acceptable change. Do I favor allowing teachers and staff who so choose to carry concealed weapons? Yes, I do. Of course, I also suggest that a person who cannot be trusted to carry a weapon has no business being employed by a school at all, especially not a school attended by my children.
