Whining about Mayor Bloomberg spending $12Million while, at the same time spending over $37Million defies logic…then again, so does the 180° flip-flop regarding background checks, and the 180° flip-flop regarding guns in schools [link].

What seems painfully clear, Mayor Bloomberg wants to see a reduction in gun violence, Wayne LaPierre want to see continued profits for the gun industry for whom he lobbies.
I can't believe any reasonably intelligent person can listen to these two guys and prefer La Pierre.  I figure those who do are either lying, because they love their gun rights so much, or they're actually blinded by bias and actually do think Wayne makes more sense.

What's your opinion?  Please leave a comment.

  1. It is very simple, one wants confiscation, one doesn't.

  2. So saying that we like the guy who is fighting for our rights more than the guy who is trying to restrict them is lying?

Your insults, pretended intelligence, and constant belittling of what you acknowledge as rights do nothing to advance your cause. By all means, continue this behavior. It drives liberals, like Ben, away from your side and into our ranks.

    1. You wish. Ben was a rare example of a non-gun owner who agrees with your fanaticism.

La Pierre is a shill for the gun manufacturers and is paid handsomely for it. You guys are the dupes who keep believing the NRA lies.

    2. We know La Pierre is paid to lobby for our side. Was that revelation supposed to give me new insight?

As for your continual comments about us being dupes, you need to step back and reevaluate the situation to see how stupid you sound. We're not duped by the NRA. We have our beliefs, and over time, we've pulled the NRA to our side.

You constantly go on about how they've flip-flopped on Background Checks, blacks with guns, etc. We, the grassroots you keep claiming are dupes, were already here. The NRA just realigned its positions as it became enlightened and joined us.

But go on spouting drivel about us being dupes who parrot their lines.

    3. That would all sound great except that polls tell us the NRA membership is not in agreement with these things. You're deluding yourself to think the NRA policies have come into alignment with you grass roots guys. The truth is you are a fringe element of gun owners at large, not representative at all of what most think and believe. And yes you are dupes, because you're the ones who keep stocking up more and more on guns and ammo, which does nothing to make yourselves more safe and only enriches the gun manufacturers.

    4. Did you notice how the poll numbers are swinging back in our favor? But regardless, the only poll that matters is the one that your side loses in most states: an election.

    5. How do you explain the NRA gaining half a million members in a month then?

    6. So, because I WANT more ammo, and therefore go buy more ammo, I'm being duped into enriching the manufacturers? Guess you're being duped by the grocery stores, duped by blogspot, duped by the place you buy your espresso there in Rome.

    7. TS, I noticed the number of MAIG mayors is not in the 900s. That's double.

    1. So?

Well, YOUR side are the ones who have redubbed gun control "gun safety" and yet can't follow basic safety rules.

We're just insisting that you play by your own rules.

    2. I think he was just a really good actor doing a really good job imitating your regular gun owner, finger on the trigger and all. It shows how "accidents" happen.

But with background checks required for all sales, what he wouldn't be able to do is sell his gun "inadvertently" to a bad guy, no matter how lax he is with the safety rules.

    3. So the regular gun owner is careless huh? That must be why accidents with guns have been down for so long. Wait...

An Actor doing a good job imitating us huh? Are you admitting that they couldn't get a real gun owner that fit their stereotype to act in the ad?

How would a background check law prevent him from inadvertently or purposefully selling to a bad guy if he so desired, and then just reporting the gun lost? Your proposals don't include registration, which has no chance of passing.

    4. Oh, and nice way to dodge sticking to your "gun safety" principles. Just make a dumbass excuse that he was imitating bad behavior, making the ad a backhanded slap at the hunters it's supposed to convince.

    5. Their take on gun safety is like the Puritan's approach to safe sex: abstinence. Their perspective knowledge on the subjects are comparable as well.

    6. "How would a background check law prevent him from inadvertently or purposefully selling to a bad guy if he so desired, and then just reporting the gun lost?"

That question tells us all we need to know about you. I was thinking that most law-abiding gun owners would continue to be just that if private sales suddenly required a background check.

    7. Wow, so my asking how a law will help a situation, and you imply that I must be a criminal rather than answering the question.

The law abiding will likely continue being law abiding, as you say. However, most cases of the diversion of guns to the criminal market are through either theft or straw purchases for/other sales to known prohibited persons.

What would keep those NON law abiding people from continue selling guns as I suggested?

    8. Once there's no point in obeying the law, lots of good people become criminals.

      Delete
    9. No, no, if the background check bill passes, there will be millions of formally law-abiding gun owners who will commit felonies and not even know it.

      Delete
    10. You think there are "millions" who are so cut off from the real world that they'd not hear of the new law?

  4. Bloomingbutt wants to control every aspect of our lives, while the LaPierre believes in freedom. Bloomingbutt faced term limits, but got special permission to continue as the tyrant of New York. LaPierre is employed by an organization that represents my rights. It's really not so hard to understand.
