At least I know my limitations

Well, I missed the questions on mechanics and algebra.

Algebra--I haven't thought about that in over 40 years.  Although, the circuit diagram was something I should have caught as well, but that's been 30 years.

Before you call me dumb--what's you're score on this test?

Well, I would join the French Foreign Legion if I wanted to show how tough I was anyway.

  1. Still elevating online quizzes as legitimate tests of qualification to speak on the law and various other issues, I see.

Interestingly, if we put as much stock in these quizzes as you do, it would indicate that we should discount your commentary on military tactics.

    1. He lacks other qualifications to bombast about.

  2. Tennessean, you haven't provided any other tests of qualifications either, much less shown any that are more valid.

Not the same as a professional board test --you know, like taking the licensing test to be a lawyer successfully in multiple jurisdictions, and then practicing successfully.

I suspect that you lack as well any superior qualifications for military tactics or history. You haven't displayed any particular genius here so far.

    1. And you have, Dog Gone? All I've seen from you is regurgitated and poorly comprehended ideas of others.

    2. Hi there, PFM!

I don't obsess with tests and qualifications like you do; I address the other adults I deal with as adults and present my arguments and ideas for evaluation and debate same as anyone else.

On occasion it becomes helpful to give a bit of my background on an issue, and if you look back, you'll probably find a discussion where you'll learn that I'm a lawyer too--*gasp*--and I've even passed those professional board tests (They're called Bar exams) in multiple jurisdictions! How can this BE!

I don't claim and haven't claimed any special genius, and frankly I have no interest in getting into some kind of academic dick measuring contest with you or Laci. It's unnecessary. The issues we are discussing are not intricacies of some Byzantine bit of legal code such as the US Tax or Immigration codes.

You and Laci are the ones who claim to be experts with so much knowledge that the rest of us should be awed into silence. Your arguments had been failing to display such genius, and of late, Laci has been posting online quizzes as proof of his genius. Rather than taking a step back, you offered the weak justification that he was showing that he was smarter than us according to any independent metric.

Really? Facebook quizzes count as proof of intelligence? Then the fact I got banned from playing trivial pursuit by the other nerds in the Honors Program at college must make me a god in your reckoning!

      KNEEL BEFORE ZOD!

  3. Tennessean did YOU attend Sandhurst? Or an American equivalent?

If not, I doubt you know diddly squat about military tactics in comparison, and probably lack the requisite knowledge to critique someone who did.

    1. Dog Gone, can't you understand that boasting about credentials is a waste of time? Unless we're all willing to post our resumes and transcripts and so forth for everyone to evaluate, it's all just hot air. Besides, George W. Bush got degrees from Harvard and Yale. Rather than attacking or defending the person, how about dealing with the points that are presented?

    2. Sadly, I had to give up hope for DG long ago. She seems to be incapable of arguing any point without citing how her degrees outrank anything that anyone else can possibly say. It's about as worthwhile as arguing with E.N.

I foolishly held out hope for Laci a little longer, but his apoplectic irrationality over the past week has confirmed all suspicions.

    3. Actually, Dog Gone doesn't claim to have any degrees. From her comments, she appears to be someone who has taken a few classes here and there.

    4. True, but she does cite various classes, and extensive study and industry experience on a wide variety of issues. All much more nebulous than a degree, but maintained with the same screeching fanaticism which she uses to cite Laci's degrees and history with guns.

Regardless of the source of her authority on a particular issue, the fact remains that she will go on and on about how she has studied the issue more and has more experience in it than anyone opposed to her could ever hope to have, and that THIS is the reason that we must submit to her demands, or we are idiot children.

    5. Exactly so, Tennessean. Note how she hasn't come back to continue the discussion? She's a perfect example of what the word, sophomore, means: wise fool.

  4. Take it easy people. What made Laci post this one anyway? Wondering what pushes him to post this...
