Texas 5-Year-old Shot in the Head - No One Held Accountable

CBS reports

Denton police are investigating what they’re calling an accidental shooting of a 5-year-old boy. It happened close to noon on Saturday while the two boys were in a bedroom alone at a home in 2700 block of Stockton Street in Denton.

Police say an 8-year-old accidentally shot the 5-year-old in the head with a .22 caliber rifle while they were playing.

Two adults and a teenager were inside the house when the shooting happened.

The 5-year-old victim was taken to Denton Regional Medical Center ED by the Denton Fire Department and then flown by CareFlite to Children’s Medical Center in Dallas.

He is presently on a ventilator at this time.
Day in and day out, kids are dropping like flies. The immediate fault is that of the gun owners who leave their guns loaded and accessible to kids.  The secondary fault is that of the gun-rights fanatics who fight so strenuously to keep gun laws lax. And, last but not least, I blame the NRA and the gun manufacturers for the same reason, except unlike the gun-rights folks, whose motivation is convenience for themselves, the NRA and gun manufacturers have a pure profit motive.

None of them, not the gun-owning parents, not the gun-rights supporters and certainly not the NRA and gun manufacturers, care enough about the victims of gun violence to do anything about it.

Shame on them all.

  1. We must punish those decadent gun owners who dare corrupt the minds of the peasants with such vile onanistic thoughts.

Such simian behaviors, in direct heresy to the teachings of the State, mush be PUNISHED.

Those who serve only to corrupt our precious bodily fluids with such worfress depravity mush be punished.

Therefore, the U.S. needs to allow Ex post facto prosecutions so they can punish those who have held firearms after prohibitive measures are taken, and punish the dirty.

  2. Shame on you for mischaracterizing us. Shame on you for making demands without being able to analyze data. Shame on you for failing to see that your proposals would do no good. But mostly, shame on you for hating freedom.

  3. The secondary fault is that of the [anti-genocidal tyranny, pro-humanity] fanatics who fight so strenuously to keep gun laws lax.

Actually, before we can fight to keep gun laws "lax," we have to make America's draconian, oppressive gun laws "lax." Ideally, that would be "lax" to the point of non-existence.

Oh, and "fight so strenuously"? The fighting hasn't started.

    Yet.

  4. Mike, with all due respect, but this happened yesterday and they are investigating. Even the gun crazy (in your opinion) state of Texas has a safe storage law on the books. The police likely feel that the parents are a flight risk since I'm sure they are camped out at the hospital with their son.
Suggesting that no one is being held accountable right now is a bit premature. As you can see, even the gun crazy fanatics of Texas feel strongly about gun safety.

    2. ss, I think the crazy gun fanatics of Texas feel very strongly about gun safety when a black or Hispanic violates it, or a whith-trash criminal, for that matter. But, I think too often they find ways to cover for each other (the gun-fanatics, that is).

    3. In other words, Mikbe, based on your prejudices, you've come to that opinion.

    1. Save your fanatical views on abortion for the occasional post I make about that subject, please. Here we're talking about the misuse of guns in Texas.

    1. That's not a problem to the NRA. They worship Moloch, and demand a sacrifice of children to Moloch. I am tired of it. I am actively hoping that NRA kids get shot.

  7. I personally am offended by the lovers of death in the NRA. I hope and pray that you are visited by the angel of the NRA and her AK-whatever. Let all dead kids be NRA kids from here on out.

  8. Well said!
Amazing what gun nuts will put up with (thousands of deaths) to ensure their rights. I guess they have a right to see thousands die to get their guns. Their dismissal of those deaths is most disgusting.
