  1. How many years in advance did Sharpton have his statement prepared?

  2. Nope. This about a victory for justice. It is and should be a slap in the face for Sharpton, Jackson, Obama and his ilk and the left hand media that wants this trial to be about race and further other wrong headed agendas.

Real justice prevailed by the preponderance of evidence, both physical and thru witness testimony that the justice system does get it right.

Knee jerk reactions and opinions don't make truths.

    1. Actually, it was about race, but even more it was about gun rights. The gun-rights fanatics, many of whom are secret racists, won.

    2. Ah, yes. It's about race! Because White racists love mixed race hispanics--they count as white people as long as they're going up against blacks--Haven't you heard of the Mexican arm of the KKK? And all of the "white hispanic" members being inducted into the Aryan Nation?

    3. "they count as white people as long as they're going up against blacks"

      Exactly.

    4. The fact that you would pull that sarcastic comment out and VERIFY that that's your thinking...

Thank you. It's rare people admit to such irrationality.

  3. Last year, the cry was "we simply want an arrest" presumably to let the justice system do its thing. They didn't want that. They wanted to tie Zimmerman to the stake and light the pyre.

    1. Yup. Heard Sharpton saying that last year, and after the arrest I was impressed to see him back off a bit, for at least a while, while Matthews and others just ramped up the venom.

Course, now that we have a verdict all of his comments about trusting the system are forgotten.

Here, we have a case where the prosecution's case was so weak that it's pretty obvious why it wasn't prosecuted in the first place--the cops and DA were convinced that it was either self defense or, at worst, an unprovable case.

But hooray for the media furor and the pundits who could see EXACTLY what happened, because they were able to stir up enough political furor to demand a trial that wasted a bunch of money reaching a pretty inevitable conclusion.

    2. Juror B37 with her greedy blabber mouth is now demonstrating that the secret racism and gun-rights fanaticism infiltrated even the jury.

The right verdict would have been guilty of manslaughter. That would have been justice.

    3. Haven't watched any interviews. What quotes illustrate racism? And what quotes indicate "gun-rights fanaticism"?

    4. I missed the interview, but I've seen clips from it. What parts illustrate "secret racism"?

    5. Do your own research, guys. But to answer your questions you need to suspend your preconceived notions and get honest for a moment.

    6. Mikeb, it's less about getting the facts and more about figuring out the bizarre twists of your thinking.

    7. Given your response above, implying that racist white supremacists will give up their hatred of mixed race people so long as those mixed race people are against blacks shows that your understanding of racism and racists is so convoluted and inaccurate that your assertion that there's "secret racism" to be found here is about as reliable as a virgin's opinions on sexual positions.

  4. Didn't turn on the news but once over the weekend--about 5 minutes of MSNBC on Saturday afternoon where Karen Finney was talking about what a horrible job the prosecution had done making their case--everything from tactics, to failure to present alternate theories to ones presented by the defense, to poor performance in closing arguments, etc.

Some of the criticism was of choices in the prosecution's control, but some of the commentary was on how weak the evidence itself was and how it was probably insufficient for a guilty verdict.

    I guess Karen is a White Supremacist who hates . . . black . . . people . . .
