Quote of the Day

More proof that the concept of "gun rights" may not be popular:
In Washington State this November, none of that will matter. There are no phone calls to Senate offices in referendum campaigns. The losses that Alan Gottlieb worries the American public may inflict on the gun-rights movement will be delivered directly, by ordinary people checking boxes on pieces of paper. In other words, pretty much the exact opposite of a police state.

  1. Um, Laci--"proof that gun rights may not be popular"? Doesn't "proof" generally tend to be a bit stronger than an assertion of "may"? Wow--wouldn't prosecutors love it if the criminal justice system required only that to get a conviction, the accused be "proven maybe guilty beyond a reasonable doubt"?

Jules Winniefield has a question for you.

    1. Maybe he's just so used to only having to try to instill reasonable doubt that he thinks that actually proves his side...

  2. Its interesting that the article portrays Alan Gottlieb as the reasonable realist in the discussion of the initiatives in Washington.

    1. Jadegold would be happy that they mentioned he is a convicted tax felon. He doesn't like it when his name is mentioned without including that tidbit.

    2. Probably almost as much when someone mentions that he went through the proper legal channels required to petition for and successfully have his rights restored, to include possessing firearms.

  3. 594 worries me because so many people will vote for it not knowing what it does- thanks to the gun control’s misinformation campaign. We may have to attack it through the courts. If it loses, it will be a big kick in the pants, though.
