This is what winning looks like

First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win.

  1. Interesting that when gun rights groups do what gun control groups do, (make fun of their opponents) it somehow becomes a sign of desperation. How many similar memes ridiculing gun rights posted here?
The MOMs have been having to redo their criteria of "victory" because the stores they attempt to pressure into banning guns isn't falling for it and merely pay lip service to shut them up. If their footing was any kind of firm on this issue, they wouldn't be accepting the meaningless press releases recently released by these companies.
A significant majority of permit holders, while they might not approve of the decision of a business to post signs banning carry, also respect that its their prerogative and will vote with their wallet and go elsewhere. But, the MOMs cant even get these companies to post a simple sign.

    1. It's not the same, to make fun of moms who have lost children to gun shot death, compared to gun loons who won't even consider simple safe rules about guns that would save lives and are not taking away your right to buy, use, and own guns. Of course you care so little that if there is no sign you walk in with your gun amongst customers that include young children and families, even though the owners of the business asked you not to. The unreasonable one is you.

Sorry, though her cause might be at least outwardly honorable, if you pick a fight, you cant very well complain if the same tactics used by you are used against you.
We've also discussed at length the issue of posting signs banning guns. While I appreciate the companies' situation being pressured by these special interest groups, their attempt to avoid making a real decision in their attempt to make a buck off of both sides doesn't impress me.
If they are going to say in a press release it isn't a ban, or refuse to post according local laws, then on the rare occasions I do need to do business with them, I will.

    3. Of course only a gun loon would equate MOM's motivations to end unnecessary gun deaths after having lost a child to gun shot, with the motivations of protesting gun loons screaming about not being able to bring their guns in to a coffee shop where the owners have already asked you not to bring your gun inside. Morally bankrupt aren't you SS.

    4. The MOMs are a special interest lobbying group, not really different than the NRA or the SAF with the exception of there being not as successful as the two I mentioned.

    5. There you go again equating MOM's with the NRA. You really are a sick gun loon.

    6. Given the short time the MOMs have been on the scene, I'd say they're doing pretty well. Comparing them to organizations that have been active for decades is a bit unfair.

    7. Comparing MOM's (a group dedicated to ending unnecessary gun shot death) to an organization (NRA) that promotes lose gun laws that cause unnecessary death, is sick.

      Delete
    8. What's really sick is that you really think there is a difference.

      Delete
    9. What is sick is you don't understand the difference. But that is typical gun loon thinking that cares nothing for the innocent death caused by gun loons.

      Delete
    10. Oh I completely understand that there IS NO difference. MOMs actions will do nothing to prevent death, but in fact will PROMOTE IT instead!

Now that is what I call SICK! And what is worse is that YOU cant see it.

    11. You give yourself away with nonsense like "will do nothing to prevent death." A valid question is would more lives be saved than lost. I've shown many times how guns do more harm than good. Proper gun control would increase the benefits by removing guns from the dangerous and unqualified while leaving the responsible armed.

    12. You understand nothing but killing, guns, violence, and some warped idea that all those things are your right. You are the kind of idiot who should not own a gun.

    13. Mike, when you remove the tools of self defense from the moms (the real moms) that want to protect themselves and their kids, you invite more violence to happen to them. Your "proper gun control" is nothing more than a pipe dream for you and others like you. You can control (sarc) all you want but the criminal will always find their tools of destruction. Just ask my mom, she will never give hers up, ever, and for good reason, after experiencing a mayhem of her own. I feel for the next guy to ever try anything against her person again.

So yeah, MOMS actions will do NOTHING to prevent death. NOTHING! But will in fact PROMOTE IT!

And you haven't shown how many times guns do more harm than good, you cant, you have no proof at all in the difference, only your opinion.

And anon, its only your opinion as well. I own 38 different guns currently and that number will go up. None of which has ever killed anything but pieces of paper. I am right because I don't want to ever kill anything that breaths or bleeds. I don't hunt game or want to. I don't hunt people or want to. I don't have fantasies of fighting or shooting up places or people. They all remain securely locked up, polished and gleaming works of art that function fully and properly. So, idiot, take your opinion of who should or should not own guns and shove it.

    14. Since you have the psychological problems that make you a risk for owning guns and becoming violent, you would be the last one to know.

    15. And you figured exactly how I have a problem doctor keyboard commando?

    16. Easy, just read your insane rants.

I don't want to do that. I want only to remove guns from those people who are unfit to safely use them. Under my system of proper gun control the responsible and truly law abiding gun owners would continue to own guns pretty much like they do now.

    19. " Under my system of proper gun control the responsible and truly law abiding gun owners would continue to own guns pretty much like they do now."

Well Mike, it sounds like that really nothing needs to be changed then. We already, by law, remove guns and prevent those unfit to have guns get them. But you or anyone else can ever prevent criminals from getting them in the first place. I wish we could, I really do. And I am completely with you on doing everything Constitutionally possible to prevent criminals getting possession of guns. But you can not violate the constitutional rights of everyone to try, that's right, TRY, to prevent the few who will break the laws anyway.

Mike, its not the gun. Its the person. We need our mental health institutions back. We need to have uniform enforcement of the laws and punishment that matches the crime. For example, if a guy attempts rape, ATTEMPTS, he can get life with no parole. But almost in every state, a guy can commit murder, MURDER mind you, and get as little as five years, turn him out just he can go kill again. And they do more often than not. So I ask, where in Gods name is there any sense in that?!?

This completely senseless execution of the laws in this country is exactly why personal self defense laws in this country is needed. Mental idiots on the loose in common population, and you don't know who or where they are or when they may go off. Truly law abiding gun owners are the majority, specifically the ones that have had their personal lives laid out on the table, examined from head to toe, exposing their entire past for the government to see, is not the problem. Yet those are the very people you and your company continue to attack instead of the criminal element that NOONE is doing anything about or just putting them back out on the street.

Does the occasional gun owner screw up, sure, you are proficient in showing that. No human is perfect. And neither are you. You have admitted so. But under your "system", real moms that want to protect themselves and their children can be severely restricted or prevented from doing so. Real dads can be as well.

I know that you really believe in what your doing and I can relate to that, but there has to be a better way. Start by uniformly enforcing laws we already have instead of piling on more useless laws that create more loopholes and challenges that keep resources on figuring out how to get people off that have committed crimes instead of focusing on those that are known dangers to themselves and public at large. And convicted individuals to remain in jail instead of a revolving door for them. If you can do THAT, then maybe the need for real moms and dads to have the need to protect themselves will diminish as the criminal element will diminish.

It will never be perfect Mike, but perfection should always be strived for. Pushing hard to take away rights will do nothing but to create a larger push back and then nothing will get done. But doing something the right way to lower crimes without infringements on rights in general will lead to less and less of the need to exorcizing of those rights. In other words, we have those rights to protect ourselves and we use them. But if there isn't anything that we have to protect ourselves from,,,,,,,,, problem solved.

    20. Thanks for that very thoughtful comment. But tell me, how would requiring a background check on private gun sales prevent a "real mom" from owning a gun for protection? How would requiring by law that she lock the gun up when it's not on her person violate her constitutional rights?

Those are my two main things.

  2. Guns go off and hurt and kill when simply dropped. It's not just the person, it is the gun. A bullet discharges when dropped on the floor. It's not just the person.....

    1. Bullshit. Unless you have a very old gun. All modern day guns are very much drop proof and cannot "go off" on their own or when dropped. Someone pulled the bang switch with their booger hook and as the most common excuse is it just went off or dropped. And that excuse has been ultimately proven wrong near 99.9 percent of the time when investigated completely.

    2. Bullshit. That's what SS and GC said, but we keep reading how these guns go off by simply being dropped and this site posted another just the other day. I'll believe the reports of what actually happened, not what you lying guu loons claim cannot happen.

    3. Yeah, that 99.9% line is pretty funny.
