FAB Defense’s New Gotcha Hat, The Go Anywhere Self Defense Tool

FAB Defense Gotcha Hat Self Defense Tool

Ammoland

When it comes to personal protection, why not be proactive?

The ultimate concealed self-defense tool from FAB Defense, the Gotcha Hat can go with you where other weapons are prohibited.

The less-lethal self-defense tool is hidden in plain sight adding confidence to any individual wearing the hat under any set of circumstances.

The tool is made of MIL-SPEC reinforced polymer composite, so it won’t trigger metal detectors and is mounted into the brim of a stylish hat so your attacker will never see it coming.

Martial arts experts Dov Granchrow and Yaron Hanover designed the Gotcha hat so that individuals, even when wearing little clothing (such as shorts or swimsuits), would never be caught empty-handed. The Gotcha can be drawn easily from the holding mount within the brim of the hat in a non-threatening motion, which will catch your attacker off guard. Not only will users confidently defend themselves, they’ll have the last word: Gotcha. The personal-defense tool enables quick pressure point standoff as well as restraining and disarming techniques.

And now for something completely different...

I was looking for signal mirror since I spend a lot of time in the woods (and tend to look for useful items).  This popped up:

IMHO, this has got to be the coolest gadget to go into the woods with.

Bulletproof Backpacks

Bulletproof backpacks video from ABC

We've discussed this before, but it seems like they're back in a big way. The 3rd-world sweat-shop owner has an obvious profit motive. The gun-rights nuts, taking their cue from Leader La Pierre, have another. Whatever deflects from the true focus of the issue is good.  Sometimes it an exclusive focus on school security guards or improving the mental health reporting. As Ladd Everett said, we should be doing everything possible to stop these mass shootings before they happen, but thanks to the gun lobby, absolutely no changes have happened to accomplish that since Newtown.

You gun-fetish sickos should be proud.

Prepare for the Revolution before it's too Late

via Enola Gay of the Paratus Familia Blog

10 Things to do Until the Revolution

  1. Get right with God.  The state of your soul is the only thing that should worry you.  If you don't know Jesus - nothing else matters! "Fear not; for I am with you: be not dismayed; for I am your God: I will strengthen you; yea, I will help you; yea, I will uphold you; I will uphold you with my hand of righteousness" Isaiah 41:10
  2. Inventory and make a list so that you can locate all of your gear.
  3. For goodness sake - zero your rifle!
  4. Clean and lubricate all of your firearms - check your ammunition and magazine supply.
  5. Make sure your tactical gear (you have tac gear, right?!) is in good, serviceable condition and is fitted for your mission.
  6. If you haven't already, learn to shoot the weapons in your possession.  Take a class.  If you can shoot and have no military background, read this blog (Mountain Guerrilla) and consider taking a class from this individual (be warned, If I ever find out where he lives, I'm going to send his wife (HH6) a bar of handmade soap to wash out his mouth).
  7. Make sure you have a face mask (balaclava) available to hide your identity, in case peaceful, armed protests are still an option - you don't want to be identified and harassed.
  8. I never thought I would ever say this, but.....consider purchasing body armor. The coated AR500 body armor mentioned above will serve very well for guerrilla/ prepper purposes.  Look here and here.
  9. OPSEC.  You are going to have to be very careful who you trust.  Read this story on SurvivalBlog.  In case you didn't notice, the author mentioned in the article works in law enforcement.  I myself, have been told personally, by a law enforcement officer, that his preps consisted of taking food and weapons from Mormons in his area, since he knew where they lived.
  10. Keep your head down.
I'm a bit disappointed that there was no mention of wearing tourniquet pants at all times.

More For the Semper Paratus Crowd

via Oh Gizmo

The above dagger is called the Jagdkommando Integral Tri-Dagger Fixed Blade Knife. It’s salient feature is that its impressive looking try-edged blade twists, so that you don’t have to. See, it’s one thing to stab something, but if you really want to go for the kill, you twist that blade around when it’s in there. This dagger saves you a step. It also doubles as a glass breaker, with the sheath becoming the breaker’s handle. It’s an impressive looking piece of kit.

For the Semper Paratus Crowd - Complete Protection

I've been suggesting for a long time that if the threat of attack is real enough to own guns and carry them every waking moment, then wearing body armor would be the most natural thing in the world.  Not to do so would be a gross failure in personal responsible and responsibility for one's family.  Of course, the fantasizing gun lovers we keep discussing this with aren't very interested, and fail to provide a reasonable explanation.

My idea is that they place an unrealistic importance on the gun itself and their ability to eliminate a threat.

Yesterday, Dog Gone provided us with the rest of the package.  Obviously protecting the torso from ballistic damage is not nearly enough.  The truly responsible and prepared gun owner will want to don a pair of these under his cargo pants, which will naturally have those built-in tourniquets.

For the Semper Paratus Crowd

via Before It's News Three items you can use when the SHTF.

1. Mini-prybar

If you’re on the run or bugging out, you can use it for breaching obstacles, gaining entrance to a door or even getting out of a trapped car.

I have mine wrapped in 550 paracord and it’s a beast of a self dense tool as both ends are brutally sharp and will seriously jack someone up!

2. Universal Handcuff key

As controversial as it may seem to some, you want to be able to escape from handcuffs if you need to.

I use the one from Magna Light and I’ve sewn my pants tag partially closed so it creates a snug pocket to hide this key.

If you’re ever handcuffed behind your back (as in say a home invasion, hostage situation, etc.), you can easily get the key and unlock yourself or hand it off to someone else to unlock you.

3. Security Officer's Badge

The thing about thugs is that they know that the stakes are much higher if they attack a police officer.

Now, I’m not saying to impersonate an officer, but let’s say you get trapped in a riot as a result of a demonstration that went horribly wrong.

Assuming that police aren’t the target of the demonstrators, having a badge that looks like an officer’s badge could ward off attackers who think you’re just another easy mark as they rampage through the area.

You just take out the badge and tell them to “Back off! Just go your way and I’ll go mine and neither of us need to make this an issue. Got it?” and then back out to safety as you assume their agreement.

If that still leaves you with any doubt about the author's level of obsessive paranoia, get a load of this.

In fact, I actually carry 29 URBAN SURVIVAL RESPONSE ITEMS on me at all times!
What do you think? Is that normal? Is it me?

I realize people have been caught up in tricky situations, but how likely is it really. This kind of thinking is even worse than the concealed-carry justification. Maybe this guy is in the Robert Farago category. He preaches the need for home carry so you never have to have a foot race to your gun safe with the bad guys.

For the Semper Paratus Crowd

It might look like a poorly drawn picture of an alien, but this is actually one of the most advanced types of skin ever made - that can even stop bullets.

Researchers genetically engineered goats to produce milk which is packed with the same protein as silk spiders.

Once this is milked out it can be spun out and weaved into a material that is ten times stronger than steel.

The fabric can then be blended with human skin to make what the scientists hope will be tough enough to stop even a bullet.
Any man who is truly interested in protecting his family has to sit up and take notice.

‘Now, let’s take this one step further, why bother with a vest: imagine replacing keratin, the protein responsible for the toughness of the human skin, with this spidersilk protein.

‘This is possible by adding the silk producing genes of a spider to the gnome of a human: creating a bulletproof human.
I think Robert and Brad should start selling the stuff. They'd make a fortune.

What's your opinion? Please leave a comment.

The Slap Hat Self Defense System

This standard baseball cap is one the most simple, least noticeable, and efficient personal defense items on the market. The secret of this hat is a pocket of unique impact material that is 100% the density of lead and which is sewn into the cap. Simply use the bill as the handle and the cap becomes an instant impact weapon to be used against a threat. Simple, fast, and effective! The cap includes Velcro adjustment to fit all sizes.
I'm gettin' one for Farago's birthday. Does anyone know when that is?
