Bad Doggy

Apparently, guns don't kill people...dogs do.

Officers soon learned a loaded shotgun had been placed on the bed, when the family dog jumped onto the bed causing that shotgun to discharge.

Maybe the Eddie the Beagle training didn't take.

"I Know You Are, But What Am I?"

Linoge

The Pee-Wee Herman of Gunloon blogging, Linoge, gets very self-righteous and huffs and puffs about someone who dared ban Mikey W's comments. On Mikey W's blog, Linoge bleats:
Intellectual coward.
Unwilling to tolerate dissent.
Incapable of identifying facts.
Blinded by grief.
And a paid shill, to boot.
I am unquestionably sorry for the loss she has suffered, but using that emotion as a springboard to abridge and infringe upon the rights of law-abiding citizens is simply wrong, no matter how poignant it might be.
But, given that she is on the Brady Bunch board, she has so much of her identity wrapped up in her cause, she is never going to be willing to admit it...

Oh, the irony. Linoge is all of these things and more.

Another Beauty

Ohh Shoot has the report.

The bowler has been charged with careless discharge of a firearm. Police have confiscated his gun and have contacted the gun board to get his concealed weapons permit revoked.

I didn't think anyone believed in the one-strike-you're-out law yet. Maybe they're catching on in Detroit.

What do you think?

The Damage of Gun Violence

The true extent of the damage caused by gun violence is often much greater than it seems.

Jon Stewart on the Media

In the middle of the video he mimics Arianna Huffington. It's hysterical.

The Media

Laci wrote a wonderful post about the media in the U.S. After examining a few examples, Laci's conclusion is summed up like this.

Seriously, the US needs a public media outlet otherwise it is indeed “500 channels and nothing’s on”.

Do you think it's right to accuse the U.S. media of being either biased or irresponsible?

Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf

Media Matters
published a fascinating article about the reaction to this interview by the conservative media. To support their idea that Fox News and the others distorted the intentions of the Imam's words, they provided several examples of laughably hysterical quotes and headlines.

I thought the remarks by Imam Feisal were thoughtful and reasonable. I didn't sense any dissembling or deceit in him.
